Before we get to the news, I'd like to take this chance to welcome my good old friend EmuManiac to our team. EmuManiac already runs the german emulation site <a href="http://www.emukult.de" TARGET="_blank">Emukult</a> for quite some time now, and now decided to join NGEmu here on the mainpage as well as in our N64 forums ! Welcome to the team EmuManiac !

Anyway, back to the news : Niels today updated the <a href="http://neopocott.retrofaction.com/" TARGET="_blank">BoycottAdvance SDL homepage</a> with some news progress he made during the past few weeks :<ul>The BoyCott Advance V0.23b is progressing very nicely and has a bunch of new and interesting features implented. The SDL port is infact done but I'm waiting for Gollum to release the final version of the emulator (or the final version of the code). The new SDL port now has a configuration file which is a lot better then giving 2 lines of switches :) Also I've managed to give a bit of a speedboost (yes again!) which is especially noticeble with commercial games. All commercial games run with a solid and not-choppy 60FPS using the autoskip option on my P2/450 dev-box with a Voodoo 3. </ul>Nice to hear this emu is progressing this well, it nearly looks as if it's faster than the main windows core now. For additional infos about this emulator, make sure to drop by the official <a href="http://neopocott.retrofaction.com/" TARGET="_blank">homepage</a>.

To explain :)

While the speed improvements were only tested on my WIN32 platform (Windows 2000 SP2, Voodoo3, P2/450 and SB PCI 64) I reccon it'll be also noticble on the other ports as well!

Also, the hardware use in Fullscreen for WIN32 seems to be solved with the latest code (possibly in conjunction with the new SDL library version 1.2.3), in previous versions this couldn't be archieved and gave a core dump on WIN32 systems.

I've also started with the debugger stuff which was available for ages in the official releases of BoyCott Advance (aka native WIN32) and since I think that a GUI isn't really necaserry now I do it now like it's done in VisualBoy Advance/SDL (which is btw a real good release). In the future I'll look in a GUI but this is a bit of a problem since a only a small libraries are portable (atm I've found only GTK).

Niels out :)
