I just came back from the premire, The only reason I went to see it was that it was for charity, the tickets were RM100 rather than the standard RM8, I expected to see a mediorce movie, It was suprisingly good (that's saying alot as I am usaily critical of superhero movies) It explains quite a few things like
the origins of the batmobile as a "high performance bridge layer"
or the origins of the bat shurikens

i thought it was pretty good too, but i was expecting more. i knew the fight scenes wouldn't be that good going into it, but i was still dissappointed. his voice was also pretty annoying, and the batmobile chase scene was kinna boring and over the top.

edit: scarecrow was badass though

I thought it was excellent. I've never liked a batman movie and this one completely blew me away. The batmobile chase scene was meant to be over the top too by the way :p, thats why they made it a tank. Had alot more character development than any of the others as well and actually made you think of bruce wayne as a character than just as a stuck up rich guy. I enjoyed it thuroughly. 9/10 in my book :thumb:

Katie Holmes' acting was somewhat lacking imo.
The movie irtself somehow mixed the action scenes of the 3rd and 4th movie and the darkness of the first 2. It still seemed like a superhero movie to me while the first two seemed to dark, obscure or twisted. Anyway, i liked i but i was expecting more and i can't tell what

Did you notice that by the end of the movie Bruce was being Batman for 2 days and weared the suit in just 3 ocassions?.

Spoilers:
What the hell happened to all the people on the isle? The plot just stops when Batman stops the train but the rest?...Somehow police managed to stablish order again but it's not explained.

Did you thought of the ending scene of Spiderman when Katie Holmes rejected Bruce?

they got the 2nd vaccine thingie duplicated for the people on the island after they trapped them all there. the train getting to wayne tower would have spread it all through gotham.

Well, I'm not surprised that this Batman movie turned out to be different from the previous ones. Christopher Nolan directed and co-wrote the screenplay for this movie. He also directed that twisted mind-f**k Memento and Insomnia.

I thought she rejected him completely. I remember her saying she hated the superficial Bruce who he needs to pretend he is and that she found the original Bruce he loved in Batman but as he will fight night after night she don't want to be with him.

There are 2 different times when they show you Bruce training. Between them you see Bruce Wayne in the city going to the hearing where they decide if they release the killer of his parents or not. When he appears in the city again they say he has been missing 7 years. I though the second training scene was a memory and not something actually happening after the hearing. Somehow i could not figure it out ntil they said the thing about 7 years. Did you?

I liked the movie, I only really had a problem when batman tried to act all evil and such and he was shaking and yelling, I couldn't help but laugh. I thought it was going to be darker. Also, did they treat this as a prequel, or are they going to make other ones?

Darker? wtf? This was the darkest Batman movie to date, they threw out the old slapstick **** Schumacher brought in, and went back to the fear elements of the comic, **** straight out of Frank Miller's Batman: Year One/Dark Knight stuff. Criminals were afraid of Batman, he was a ****ing monster to them, and this movie conveyed it awesomely. You laugh at Batman being scary, but Batman being a dumbass in **** like Batman and Robin is just hunky dorey? I'm sorry, but a faithful comic adaptation compared to a comedic ****fest wins I think.

To answer your question, this Batman movie disregards all others, they don't exist to it, and they are going to make more.

calm down, just because it's the darkest yet doens't mean it's as dark as I thought. I thought he looked like a moron is what I was getting at when he was shaking, he could have done a better job with that part. I'm glad it's more faithful to the comic, that's what I want, I just thought it would come across as a more hateful batman. I hope this clears things.

Thanks for answer my question, I was hoping that's how they were doing it.

I agree, good job on the movie, but when I say more hatefull. More along the lines of willing to kill the guy, but I understand that's not what batman is. I don't really know how I can be clear on this...I'm just glad they didn't do what punisher did. "my family just died...oh look my neighbors are werid comic releaf funny people". I'm glad it was serious the full way through.

I thought this movie was truly awesome and I think this is the first superhero movie that had no crappy one-liners! Horray! The humour was pretty good imo. I'm definitely going back to the cinemas to see this one again. And I do hope they make more because up until now the Batman movies were complete crap.

Once they started making so many of these movies the laws of proability made sure there will at least one good one in the pile, besides unlike the recent Fantastic4 movie that focused on special effects to bring in money, Batman dosn't have any actual superpowers (unless you consider ninja skills a super power) so they had to make him look badass with dialog and acting not catching fire, streatching, invisibility nor being stone although it still used alot of special effects like the batmobile chase and wane tower scenes

Just seen it as well...We are pleased with the darker (translation = more serious) Batman.

CD put it well...There was some humor, but it fit well...(We enjoyed Alfred's character greatly, and made sense to bring in Lucious Fox)

The only complaint we have is that the fighting scenes were played out too frequently (speedy / blurred effects)..perhaps a sequel with some well choreographed fighting scenes (The original Batman film at least did those fairly well)

All in all a good film..Sequels would be wise.

it would be pretty difficult to make sequels to a prequel without redoing the other batman movies. and although the movies weren't excellent, jack nicholson and jim carrey could not have been cast better for their villains.
