I was certain i installed the latest video card drivers. Also have direct x 9.0c

I never had this problem with my old card, the radeon 7500.

its been doing it since i installed it.

But for some reason, when i play counterstrike source, if i change the mat_dxlevel to 70, instead of 80, it doesnt restart. mat_dxlevel changes what directx the game uses or something. Clue?? lol

i think i fixed it. I routed the video card cord to another nearby outlet. Seems to work, problem was just the power supply i guess. I had everything on my computer running on one outlet

yea sometimes when you have your computer plugged into a powerstrip with a lot of other things plugged in with it, your computer might not get all the power it should be getting, so its always a good idea to have a plug just for your computer on your wall outlet.

if your computer says your system has recovered from a serious error after it reboots...then go ahead and send the error report....sometimes it will tell you what caused it. Usually it just says a device driver caused it, but sometimes it is more specific, like you video driver caused it....can't hurt anyway.

PSU = Power Supply Unit.

You should really try uninstalling the current drivers, then installing the latest drivers (www.nvidia.com). If all else fails, check if the GPU is overhating or if the HS(F) isn't performing its duties.

Also, don't tell me you just switched out the card without uninstalling the Radeon 7500 drivers first.. :doh:

Edit: and one more thing. Will moving the video cards plug to another outlet, one thats less used, make any difference?

Do you mean which PCI slot? Depending on the situation, it can, but that's rare.
