no it doesn't there was a long explanation on the boards somewhere about this, but I don't remember where exactly, but the short answer is no.
In this thread its said that PS2 may have an intergrated PS software, mayb, sometime or later, the PCSX2 team will experiment on that but I think EPSXE or PCSX is good enough for emulating PSone games. Those are pretty cool emulators too with great speed and compaitability. Hey but we can all see when PCSX2 has finished right? Or you could use a dualprogram runner which would seem the same...... ( i remember reading about somestuff like that but well all c in timeKushan said:Well I didn't mean it like a sort of PS1 with bits added, I meant it pretty much like Kane said, certain components being designed to be compattible with the PS1 and stuff
EDIT: And just to reiterate, I read this somewhere a long time ago so dun blame me >_>
KanedA: if you'd read not far up, you'd have got your answer.Kane said:The PS2 IOP is the PSX processor, IIRC and the sound chip is fully compatible with the original one.
The reason for the 2 pad ports is merely because Sony are greedy bar-stewards.
