What I am about to share on this thread is not illegal and is not intended to spread ROM's or copies of PSX games around on the Internet. This thread is instructions on how to make backup copies of your own, physical PSX discs for personal use in PSX emulators. At no time will I ever answer requests to do this for anyone, nor will I provide BIO's and ROM images or links for either. This method is legally grey under DMCA rules.

What you need to download:
There are 2 main disc burning software titles I use for the expressed purpose of backing up PSX/One Discs. Both are pretty straightforward in how to make an imageof a CD-ROM.

For newer games that do not use copy protection and do not have CDDA (Music sound tracks) built into the game itself (ie Windows asks if you want to rip the audio tracks when you load the PSX Disc in), I would recommend ImgBurn. The only exception to that is the Spyro The Dragon series.
When in read mode, IMGBurn will automatically select the type of image format (PSX gmaes are usually BIN/Cue format) you should use. Make sure that you save the image file with a ".bin" file extension on the end of it (ie "Spyro.bin" without the quotes of course).

For everything else I would recommend AnyToISO. Just remember to check the box to save the image as Bin/Que and name the image, again, with .bin at the end of it.

That's it....you can now easily make backup images of your PSX games without a hassle.

Hi you there.

It's better on use CLONE CD, it's the best program for the PSX games, especially for the CDDA kind of games. it creates the: img / ccd / sub / cue

And also, some games refuses on playing well on using the Bin/Cue, such: as the first Tomb Rider ( no matter which version )
If you want a make a good Rips and backups from your originals, always select on create the CUE file. It's important.

Believe Me i got the whole experience with those ISO formtats. And of course; those BIN/CUE are one of the best. But the primal priority for the Playstation. Use CLONE CD and you will be fine.

And then, mount your discs using Alcohol or Daemon Tools. Are great too.

No real need for a virtual CD-Rom anymore, at least for ePSXe. ePSXe does a very good job of playing multiple disk backup formats on it's own.
