Picked up a neat little mp3 player off amazon.com, the Samsung YP-T5X. Only $110, so it blew away the iPod Shuffle I was considering. I'm no audiophile, but this thing sounds great! The earbuds that come with the player are also good quality and combined they provide a rich, full sound.
It has a ton of great features. The biggest one, IMO, is the real, honest-to-goodness drag and drop file transfer. All the reviewers of other mp3 players complained about having to install software, but not with this one. Another cool thing is the ability to record FM radio into mp3 files. It also records mp3 files via the built in mic. It's easy to organize your songs(which it can hold about 80-100) of through windows.
One of the best things about the Yepp is that it is very small! It's about a quarters width in diameter, and 2 inches long.
Comparing this to the 512 iPod Shuffle, for $10 more dollars, you get drag-and-drop(my teacher was telling me about some crap about setting a certain amount of space for data on a shuffle, pfffft), FM radio(plus recording), mp3 mic encoding, many more options for bass/treble, and maybe most importantly, A SCREEN(which can be backlit by 7 different colors).

So, if you are looking for an mp3 player that is flash based, look cool, sounds great, and is packed with features, then the Samsung YP-T5X is for you. Even if your budget is $100, I'd say spend the extra $10, it's worth it.

I'll try and find the link to the product.

Do you have pic of it? I was thinking of getting IPOD shuffle recently but if Samsung YP-T5X is small as IPOD shuffle i might consider it. I really want something super small and mpeg4 compability.

I have a Nomad Muvo 128MB (mine's red).. doesn't have an LCD, but it's very easy to navigate and you can setup EQ through the PC software.. sounds amazing, love it. Takes one AAA and the battery life is AMAZING.. Seeing this and comparing to an Ipod, I can't really justify $300 on an MP3 player, regardless of features..

This is what I am using atm ( got it as a gift ). Kodak mc3 ( Video/Camera/MP3 Player with a 512 Mb Memory stick). http://www.steves-digicams.com/2001_reviews/mc3.html It lacks a flash so it's only good at capturing outdoors videos/shots on sunny days, but it makes a good mp3 player, heh.

I really wanted something small and Ipod shuffle is the one. As for mp3 players getting smaller is for the best b/c do you really want to run bulky mp3 player. But i do see why alot of people are annoyed that it shuffles. As for not having lcd screen how would they have one on such a small player?

but, but, Inca, didn't you read my post? For $10 more you get a screen, mic, FM radio, plus, I saw a Shuffle IRL, and I'd venture to say that the yepp is smaller(just a tad deeper, but skinnier and shorter).

I would like them smaller because the ones out now are a little bulky still. I have an MP3 player, Minidisc and an Ipod ... Not satisfied with any of them really. I want 5gb of flash memory and something the size of a Playstation memory card :D

Yea, I am also waiting for the penny-sized media center with 1TB HDD, wireless syncing, and 50ft. holograph projector :p
I really can't see them getting that small though. But how bout a cell phone with a built in mp3 player? Wouldn't be taking any extra space either, unless, of course, you are waiting for smaller phones too.

Nah, phones are small enough. I mean I wanna be able to hold them ^^ Some could be thinner though. Like that moterola RAZR is pretty damn thin. Yea I wanna see more phones with PDA like functions and mp3 players and such. That would be neat. There are some like that already but pricey ... whew!

i use a creative muvo^2. 4 gigs. pretty sweet. unlike other HD-based products its USB-mass storage compatible. Cheaper than a mini Ipod, at least 4 hours more battery (needless to say the battery is removable) and smaller....
