I think you should. There is no other cpu that can be compared to the Athlon XP, and even if Pentium4 Northwood(release november) gets to it, it will be amazingly more expensive. For sure Athlon is the best cpu choice. Just take care about the mobo you're buying. Maybe you should buy one with a KT266A chipset, which has great performance(btw, does anybody knows if there is any kt266a mobo on the market, and its price?)

I gotta get me one of the Athlon Xps..

Abit is going to produce the KR7a Raid mobo which will use the Via kt266a chipset.. Details about the board are on their website..
