I have an ATA/100 cable with a rectangular hole along one line of the cable. I can't install Windows because of it (certain files cannot be copied) So right now I'm using an ATA/33 cable and everything SEEMS okay for now. The question is, do I absolutely HAVE to plug the blue end of the cable into the mobo, cause the other two lengths of the cable is fine. I don't wanna spend another few bucks on a new cabel just yet. Can anyone help?

Damn I guess its not the HD or the cable since I changed both and it still isn't working. I get a BSOD when I finish installing WinXP on an AthlonXP 1700+ and Abit KR7A-RAID, 256 DDR RAM. I don't know what the problem is, every OS has crashed so far... can anyone please help?
