the motherboard is Asus P5GD1 915P 4DDR SATA 3 PCIX Raid GBLan

my friend is having problem installing the integrated sound card in this motherboard, OS is windows XP, after format HDD then installing windows we started installing drivers from the Motherboard CD, everything was fully working except for the PCI Device, it strange that its a PCI Device because the sound card is on board, i'm sure the sound card is the PCI Device because after Disabling the on board audio in BIOS the PCI Device unknown driver dont show anymore at startup if i turn it Enable it comes back popping after WinLogin.

We tried many times with Realtek driver that provided in the CD also the other driver called C-media in C-media it says Devices not found. We also look throguh the ASUS site but nothing helped

thanks for reading

any help would be appreciated

is there another sound card installed in a pci slot? that could be the problem...if not it may be a compatability issue with the OS and the mobo, though highly unlikely. i ran into a similar problem with getting my usb 2.0 to work under win xp.
