It seems like people should judge movies based each film's individual merit, rather than what country they were produced in. If you say that you only like Asian films, then you're no different than a snobby coffee-house philosopher who only likes French films.
The asian film industry is a business, just like the American film industry. I could ask why all the Asian films released in the US are either cookie-cutter horror films, martial arts films, or anime.
There have been lots of great US films in recent years: Pirates of the Caribbean, Moulin Rouge, LOTR, Shakespeare in Love, and Seven are just a few highlights of the last decade or so.
...and don't get me started on the Butterfly Effect. What a piece of crap. But that's only my opinion...
