Anybody know an emulator for Super Robot Wars Alpha?

I've encountered the dreaded mid-dialogue lockup when playing SRW Alpha. The standard piece of advice for this situation is "try another emulator." So far I've tried ePSXe and PSXEven. Both failed. Does anybody know an emulator that DEFINITELY works?

since i dont have the game it'd be hard for me to try out. tried PCSX? adriPSX? VGS? you could always do the testing yourself instead of trying two and giving up.
