Anybody know an emulator for Super Robot Wars Alpha?

I've encountered the dreaded mid-dialogue lockup when playing SRW Alpha. The standard piece of advice for this situation is "try another emulator." So far I've tried ePSXe and PSXEven. Both failed. Does anybody know an emulator that DEFINITELY works?

OK, well... here's the story. ePSXe 1.60 worked for MOST of the game... but much later (Minmei singing, some of the EoE stuff) there were locks I couldn't get around. Eventually I had to cobble together a working version of VGS - with the help of a memory card converter - to play through those parts. ePSXe still works better, in addition to supporting savestates.
