Can u guys confirm this for me, if i did opened the right ports?

you can't make them any faster. you get them at the speed the host user is allowing, or can send. Bit torrents are the least centralized of all the P2P software.

BitSpirit is the slowest torrent client out there....

I don't blame if you refuse from using python/java clients on Windows, so use BitComet instead ;)

you could try opening udp 6881 as well...

Clients make a difference too; I now use Azureus, which is way faster than what I used before (bt experimental) Azureus requires the Java runtime (= memory eating) though.

Actually it's the most centralized of all current p2p software.

Anyway I use Azures and I highly reccomend it. Especially since it has a plugin for port blocking which is a must these days.

Are you trying to use bittorrent on a campus network? Your network may have packet shapers or other types of programs which prevent p2p programs like bittorrent and kazaa from working. I have that problem, so I use http-tunneling software. It works pretty well for kazaa, but not for for bittorrent.

Hum, ill open that port too.
Ive been told the bitspirit WAS the fastest client, i used to use ABC before...
Ill try Azureus, i dont care for mem eating, 512Mb is just enough for me. :)

Never had any problems with Azureus, and it runs like 20x faster for me than ABC. I could barely break 5kb/s on ABC on anything for some reason

Yeah i noticed the port thing only yesterday after i posted.
The dl was going fine until it reached something like 45%.
Now its crawling. I set the UP to 1024 and down to 1024 and let all night.
The speeds are just horrible now....
BUT, this is weird, when i set the UP to 10 or 30(i got 128KB UP MAX) the Down speeds are lower then i set to 1kb UP....

If you want to speed up your torrent you can do like me, if there's still member spot available at www.torrentonline.com you can get one of their sweet http based torrent downloader, it's costy but worth it, you input the torrent on their high speed servers and download later on in direct download.

I'm on campus, so it's packet shapped so no torrents are possible.

I say use bittornado. Dont get the stable version but this
Bittornado Shadows Experimental Bittorrent S-5.8.11.
Which is under downloads then under Older Versions. When you download it you gotta configure it to isdn/modem and upload to 5k and maxupload 2. After like 20minutes your download rate should be around 60k constantly or higher. Also you gotta configure your Port Range to ports open on firewall.

Bittornado works the best for me. I tried Azureus which I had mixed results with, ABC which ran horrible and about 4 others which I forget their names :p In fact I got a file today at 180kbps+ which isn't too shabby :D
