I can't really say if Fruits Basket and Gundam Seed aren't better than Hajime no Ippo or Hunter X Hunter but having see all those four animes before, I think all of them are quite good. Maybe it's your personal opinion they don't deserve to be that high, but I thought they were rather good. It's really hard judging because they're all different types of anime.

Gundam SEED was on top of the 10 favorite animes in japan for 2 years. I can easily say it's one of the best animes I've ever seen ( Coming very close to it would be Full Metal Alchemist IMO). Dunno about Fruit Basket or Hunter x Hunter though. And if I am not mistaken, those ratings are based on public votes, not just randomly...

The thing is, Gundam SEED was the epitome of Gundam series, and it was superb. Fruits Basket was a great Shoujo/Romance/Comedy. The two shows you prefer: HnI and HxH are both in the DBZ mould. They are good in that (well HxH is, dunno about HnI having not watched it), but the fans that frequent Animenfo prefer the former types

ehhehe as u can see, i just wanted to vent my frustration >.<. i have a few other animes that i think deserve to be higher. i mean, GTO is an awesome anime that imo is above a lot of the animes rated higher. then again, as previously said thats my opinion only. i honestly think Gundam Seed was quite boring and the story kinda sucked but thats prolly cuz i never watched any of hte other gundams. and fruits baskets...the sheer amount of subtle [email protected] was enuff to put me off, not to mention the story went practically nowhere.

If you haven't seen Hajime no Ippo, then you're missing out on a great show! Too bad the anime doesn't continue where the manga supposedly does, but this boxing anime is one of the best animes out there, IMO of course. Great underdog story and I wasn't disappointed one bit by this anime. :)

Oh yeah, you have to get used to the drawings but the same can be said by other great animes like One Piece and etc.

nono, i mean i saw hajime no ippo! i just finished it ystrday and was looking for great animes to watch. i simply loved it so much i decided to vent my frustration here. imo, its one of the few animes whose animation quality is the same as the manga.

thx for the suggestion about one piece, ive been "watching" that as they came out i just havent watched any...same with prince of tennis. I just started Hikaru no Go (hope im not tricked by animenfo this time) tho so im hoping its not disappointing.

some good stuff apparently . meh i expected a lot. the story wasnt really touching for me. i think they tried to fit too many themes in too little episodes so that nothing reallly developed very well. then again, i cud be smoking stuff...

btw i dont smoke or drink >.< mebe thats my problem?

Oh the Hajime No Ippo recommendation was directed to people who haven't watched it like Kane-sama. I knew you saw it. :p

Prince of Tennis I'm currently watching it as well. I've seen all the way up to the current release by the fansub groups. I love it. Although they sometimes use real world people when they talk about tennis players, what's funny about it is that it's so way over the top it's really contractdictory when they use those references. Kind of like Hajime No Ippo in a way. Good stuff.

D.D., have you seen Bleach? I think it's really good so far.

I'm going to watch Monster (got the idea from another thread around here) and Beck (which I didn't hear about it until the other day for some reason). They look interesting enough. :)

Oh yeah, I've seen some of Hikaru no Go until like ep 40 something. Not my type of anime. I saw it a long time ago though but from what I remember it's some story about some kid who has this ancient ghost who he can see and this spirit teaches him how to play that chess-like game Go. Too slow for me. Does it get any better towards the latter stages of the anime for whoever saw it?

I'm note really willing to get a series more than 30 eps long unless I started watching it from the beginning, but I will bear HnI in mind.
