First of all, I apologize about posting this in a new thread, but since it has nothing to do with the gameplay and everything to do with Blizzard's policy, I figured I'd make another thread, though with any luck this one won't have the staying power Han's gameplay thread does.

Besides the rampant server outages of late, I'm more deeply concerned about the ongoing pattern of misinformation going on in Blizzard, both in regards to ignoring issues brought up by players and perhaps more in not giving information that could help allay fears. Today it was discovered just how big of a problem the latter is at Blizzard.

The Fires of Heaven, a prominent Horde guild on the Hyjal server that was likewise important during beta, received exclusive information about upcoming changes that have not been made public via their forums at the thread located at http://www.fohguild.org/forums/showthread....15&pagenumber=2

Tigole, one of the Blizzard developers, gave this information in two different posts:

"We figured out what was causing her to go beneath the world. It should only be occurring when you wipe out. The fix for this is live on the Test Realm right now, awaiting a patch to the public realms.

"Also, the Onyxia speed hack should also be fixed in that same build (unfortunately, we couldn't stop her from farming feathers for gold in Azshara though).

"I'll try to update you on the knockaway bug status later today.

"Apologies for these bugs. I know how frustrating they are."

and

"Regarding Onyxia/Molten Core loot, the main thing to remember is that the loot table changes are not coming in this patch. Luckily, the next patch will follow much quicker than the current one on test (the delays in patching frustrated us as much as you, if you can believe that). So t here will be a delay before MC/Onyxia loot completely catches up to the Kazzak/Azuregos stuff.

"MC/Onyxia loot should be on par if not better than some of the Azuregos/Kazzak stuff once the patch-after-next hits the live servers.

"Also, you guys will be happy to know that Blackwing Lair is coming along nicely and is being tuned and tested internally now. So there's more instanced raid content on the way, although I don't have an ETA on Blackwing just yet..."

This was pointed out on the Blizzard forums (a waste of humanity, but let's ignore that part) and the jumping of "fanbois" and whiners inevitably commenced. I of course tried to be rational at first about the whole news and put it into a (relatively) positive light: " You know, communicating some of this information to customers might persuade some of them not to cancel their accounts because they don't think anything's being developed."

However, this whole thing escalated out of control (at least in my opinion) when one of the members from the guild decided to respond. Melia, level 60 druid, responded:

Q u o t e:
Wow. This really pisses me off.

Why can't Tigole post on the Blizzard forums w/ this kind of thing?

Why is he telling his buddies stuff that us paying customers have to squeeze out of the CM's?

Because you guys are idiots."

I was kind of infuriated by this, even though when you get right down to it, most of the people posting in those forums ARE idiots. So I retorted, " Well, maybe we idiots should tell Blizzard to take a hike and take our money elsewhere. I'm sure that your guild can keep the MMO going since you are superior specimens of humans."

To which Melia replied in return, "You won't do that because you are a spineless mouth piece.

"<insert hot air> Blah blah blah blah....

"All talk, no action. If you don't like WoW, don't play. Leave. Get lost. Bye."

I love playing the game, but honestly BS like this is incredibly lame. As far as a response from Blizzard? Pfft, none as of yet.

I'm tempted to cancel my account over this, but since I do have the habit of knee-jerk reactions, I figured I'd post this to see if maybe I'm making too much of this.

Unless the thread is deleted mysteriously by mods, it can be seen in its entirety at http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.a...l&T=1958444&P=1

Bah, these kind of things happen... people complain a lot about SoE because they are a bunch of dumbasses (though there are not any issue of them giving guilds any preference that I am aware of) and I came to one conclusion: the compay is the jerk not the game. If you enjoy the game begin to add every single mofo that makes your MMORPG experience any less enjoyable to your ignore list, don't get any close to the forums (MMORPG forums are evil) and keep doing what you have been doing so far... have your life eaten by a game you like ;)

And just to show you that people make the most stupid arguments out of the most retarded **** here is a nice thread for you: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=109&message.id=2362

Note: the Kaiser Sigma in those forums is in no way affiliated to the Kaiser Sigma in this board... I swear :p

This happens in every MMO. There's always some form of info leakage. In FFXI's case there are GM's that favor people. There's ton of MMO's like that.

Blizzards,Square-Enix's, and even Sony have taken up the thought process of if a small group of people leave, so what. We still have a tons more. NCSOFT is one of the MMO operator's I like. They do try and take care of there customers. Alot of what is said is said in the forums. If you have a issue, and want to leave they beg the reason why.

The other big issues, especially in WoW. WoW isn't your typical MMO. EQ and games like Lineage 2. Have a different kind of following. EQ especially, just from the short time i've been experiening it's community you can see they are true "roleplayers" and act with a more dignified state. (most of them).

WoW due to it's large mass appeal pulled in the dreaded CS *Edit* (L33t)players. It sucks, but it's the truth. Your in a game with alot of people below the mind set age of 15. (Not actual age, mindset age)

I'm ranting again...see what no sleep does?

Ryos, I'd say if your having a good time with the game, don't quit. Yet, if you feel there are more circumstances than this. (Bored,Don't really have a clique, Just not feeling the game lately). I'd suggest moving to EQ2 or even Lineage2. Both have a nice community and EQ2 is probably the best role-play you can get.

~Reason for Edit *I added l33t players, i didn't want some CS players taking offense. I apologize of I did not add in the word AWP Ownage as well. Thank you*

Ok, if you are developing a game and you got some insider info wouldn't YOU tell your friends first? I know that I definitly would, I don't blame blizzard at all for this, of course they are gonna tell them first, its not something that directly interferes with gameplay.

(MMORPG forums are evil)
yes, I agree completely, I go only to read something my guild tells me is interesting or maybe every now and then if I'm bored out of my mind I'll surf on them a bit.

The big problem with this is not that its being done. Its the Fires of Heaven guild in general. That guild carried over from EQ Live and it was very much responcible for damaging the way content was updated and the direction the game took. Actually I am thankful Sony is not being influenced by that guild right now and they all went to WoW.

Not really. Regardless they are friends or not that kind behavior is unethical (sp?). The customers come before friends, they all pay their fee so they have the same rights.

Unethical? Maybe.

But, really it doesn't really effect the gameplay of the people "not in the know" too much so I really don't see a problem with it.

Gameplay isn't everything, customer service counts as well. Blizzard is ****ting on everyone by doing this (not to mention the guild who got the info). You pay like everyone else, you deserve the same threatment so either they don't get inside info or you all get it.
