Anyone here know about the tech tour for AMD? Info is at http://www.amd.com/techtour You can sign up for it and get a venice A64 3200+, Asus A8n-e, and Windows XP Pro x64 edition all for $250. There's also a dual opteron bundle with Windows server 2003 and mobo for $500. It'll be in a bunch of places for the next two months.
AMD/Microsoft Tech Tour 2005: Tour Map
June 2 Chicago, Illinois
June 6 Toronto, Canada
June 14 Tampa, Florida
June 16 Atlanta, Georgia
June 21 Dallas, Texas
June 23 Houston, Texas
June 27 Irvine, California
June 29 Burbank, California
July 1 Sunnyvale, California
July 12 Seattle, Washington
July 14 Vancouver, Canada
July 19 Boston, Massachusetts
July 21 East Brunswick, New Jersey

I'm going on July 12th. I've already ordered my venice bundle. Some people who went to the chicago one said that they give away some free stuff and there's free food. Good opportunity if you want to upgrade your pc. I think everything is NFR though, so don't plan on buying just to sell.

bah, they skipped right over Calgary! Damn good deal tho oO
I am SO going to the Atlanta tour..

I just need $250. :(
i wud go...only thing is i know i'll end up spending a whole lot more money after that $250....
You have to preorder and register at the site to get the bundles. If you do it will ask you what you do for a living and if you work for a company. You can just bs that part, they only check your id when you get there and that's it. For example, I put that I was a "system builder." I think I forgot to mention that no purchase is required. All you have to do is sign up.
i got the 250 i just cant go, my friend's bday is July 1, the day of the Sunnyvale tour (right by my house, woot)
i think ill attend the sunnyvale one with hushypushy...is there a date by which we have to preorder the package by? and, as long as we put down anything for company and all those required fields, we can still get in althought the company is bs?
*gasp*

gets ready to go to tampa...

CoolisCool you got that money yet!?!?!
Valcrist: I would buy yours, but Newegg has a Chaintech 6600GT card for $158.. that and I'm deciding between it and a vanilla XFX 6800 for $217. :p

ya know, if ya would have told me that a few days ago I could have sold it to a friend of mine, but NOOOO I was saving it for you :p. Oh well, now I gotsta find another buyer :)
I appreciate it a lot.. sorry I didn't tell ya, been kinda busy.
Gota talk to my dad, that Irvine showing is looking good...
ok so, has anyone actually gone to this? i signed up for sunnyvale last week, and all they sent was a confirmation email. are they supposed to send you other stuff? do we just tell them our name when we get there or somtehing?
I think you have to print out that e-mail and bring your I.D. if you ordered a bundle. If not, I think you can just go.
I went, you have to bring your credit card and I.D. to get the bundle.
(make sure to PRE-order, or no cigar)

To get in just bring a picture I.D.

Just don't tell any of the microsuck reps that your a gamer...they dont' take kindly to us ;)
ill keep that in mind when i go/if i go. i just was informed of a lame family outing thats going to take place at the same time as the tech tour in my area. sadface.
