Not too long ago, I heard about the AMD Opteron 64 CPU. Is it better than Athlon? I've never seen one in my entire life. :lol:

That's probably because they're designed for Servers. Kinda like Intel's Xeon's.

The opteron is a server grade CPU the only 2 signifigant diffrences between the two is that the Opteron uses a diffrent socket and that multiple Opteron can be used in the same computer

the opterons are meant for servers, not gaming rigs. going a64 athlon would be the better choice then going opteron. unless you really want to run 2 cpus in one computer for some other reason beside running a server.
