The problem I am having is that the game and sound is slow. I'm still new at this I only have experience with psx emulators and not much, so forgive me if I post in the wrong section, I have already looked at the FAQs.

The slowness is very common when ur pc is not powerful enough for pcsx2. Your labtop is not strong enough to maintain a constant 60 fps, heck I don't think it is capable of running any game at full speed with the exception of 2D games that is.

In pcsx2, go to Config > CPU > and turn on MTGS and DC mode. If u are using the Beta version, then just turn on DC Mode.

Go here and download the latest GSDX plugin : http://forums.ngemu.com/ps2-plugin-questions-plugin-troubleshooting/97657-gsdx.html

After u download the GSDX plugin, go to its configuration menu and check the NATIVE box.

If the games are still very slow, then u might want to give the Beta version a try (unless u are already using it).

In p.e.op.s plugin use the no reverb option
Or use the spu2ghz plugin for sound.
Basically if the game is slow, which it will be because of your cpu, the sound will also be slow. In any case turning the sound off will only help to improve the fps of the game.
