I have tried them for metroid prime and they dont seem to work (i did read this thread http://forums.ngemu.com/dolphin-discussion/108204-how-add-cheats-dolphin.html). am i getting it wrong or it isn't enabled for this game?

do you mean to ask how do you enable cheats? if so, the answer is you right click the game>properties>Edit config. then you input the AR codes

no, u misunderstood. he mean u need to tick on "enable cheat" in dolphin's config.
