Hello,
I use the latest OGL-Plugin (1.51) from Pete and I cannot get FSAA to work!
I know where to activate it. (FSAA works perfectly in OGL games
like Serious Sam and Q3) and FSAA works also perfectly with his D3D-Plugin!
But it just doesn´t work with his OGL-Plugin (I also tried earlier versions).
I want to use OGL instead of D3D because it runs alot faster on my Geforce2MX (Det.12.41).

Thanks in advance for your help,

Matcher

no, I just use 640x480 res, should work (I mean Serious Sam runs (O.K. it crawls ;) with 1024x768 32Bit OpenGL and 4xFSAA on my MX and I can easily chose any resolution in the D3D plugin with FSAA).

What a dumb problem, FSAA works in all other OGL games but not the OGL-plugin (but the D3D-plugin - ARGH  )

But thanks for your try :)

you could hit your monitor a couple of times to get that blurry anti-alising effect too. but your eye would probably hurt over time ;)

Sorry man, I got a geforce 2MX also, but I'm running detonator 14.20 on win2k. seems to work for me, try hitting your monitor a couple of times :)

OK, just set your plugin this way and it should work(except the resolution, set it to 800x60 or 640x480).

After beating my monitor for 15 minutes ;)
no, after switching and trying all options in the OGL-plugin
FSAA now works (Thanks a lot Raziel!!! :D

I cannot reproduce this, but after switching the fps from auto-detection to manual (60fps) and starting a game, FSAA kicked in (in the OGL-plugin).
After switching back to auto-detection, FSAA still worked, so
I cannot reproduce it, but, hey, who cares FSAA works now for (as it should have from the beginning :)

I think it may be the "Change desktop resolution" option which cause the problem.

O.K. I made some tests!
The FSAA doesn´t look as good with the 2D backgrounds (like FF7,8,9) in OGL as in D3D (maybe that was the problem from the beginning, cos I took FF7 as test game). The Smoothing in OGL with everything that is 3D is fine , but the filtering done with 2D is only hardly noticable. D3D filters the backgrounds in FF7 much better.
Could anybody with a Geforce (Raziel?) compare the filter quality with FSAA and 2D (best FF7,8,9) between Petes OGL and D3D plugins?

Thanks

Yeah, I know, but thanks for the shots, now I´m confident that this the cause of this might be the plugin!

Try out Petes D3D-plugin and compare 4xFSAA and no FSAA!
4xFSAA looks SO MUCH BETTER with the D3D then with the OGL plugin (maybe I will post some shots, but until then, please try it out ...)

Matcher, just a small suggestion: there is a special game fix for ff7,
repairing the text box borders...

about FSAA: FSAA is completely done by the gfx card drivers...
how it looks, feels or smells is totally under nVidia's control :)

Danke Pete!
(concerning special game fixes, I did enable the fix for FF7 but not the special game fix tab itself :emb:

It seems like I have to use your D3D driver (with FSAA the quality is a blast!), although the MDECs look slightly better with your OGL-plugin.
