When Microsoft finally comes out with a 64bit version of windows is it likely that the pcsx2 team will rewrite pcsx2 in 64bit? Just wondering if is any plans for it or anything.

Exactly, the new p4 775's have amd64 added (although they call it something else... gotta love marketing :p) , and thus run under the win x64 (the new name for the amd64 beta version of windows).

yes Intels 64bit extentions are called Intel® EM64T or support Intel® Extended Memory 64 Technology. Not all the pentium4 775socket have the EM64T though you have to look for the F verson of the petium4. But intel has actuly been doing quite Poorly lately in sales and preformace but its good to see they are starting to focus on more cpu features then just more MHz
