42" LCD Widescreen TV as Monitor......

39605 Views 1120 Replies 40 Participants Last post by  cooliscool
Well, Cid suggested it so here goes....(not the TV, the thread)

I'm getting a new monitor for my Super Build and I want it to be as BIG as possible because using this Trinitron as my monitor I have goten used to Big Icons...and I like the size of it.....Very easy on the eyes... (at least to me)

I had this TV in mind and was wondering whether any of you users have personal experience with this TV and can shed some light on it....

And Furthurmore is it a strain on your vision - not that I wanna know....

Would I be throwing my moneyt awway here? or is this a solid purchase..

Thanks mate....

Tell them to stop installing everything they come across and surfing non-safe sites?

My dad is about computer illiterate like a monkey but he keeps his computer in good order. The most I do is scan and clean once a month for him.

If you're dad and friends want to enjoy XP, they should at least try to understand the OS instead of just diving in there and hoping to learn it on the fly. Don't make excuses for them.
OSX is nice. But reports of it being so much better than windows are just bull**** hype, and you buy into it just like ever other fool who thinks it's a contest and have to choose their allegiance.
I was referring to the original Mac OS.....

It was a pleasure to use it compared to XP and ME

I don't need too..

Simply put XP was a joke,,,, and that's being kind....

Don't even get me started on the Horrors of ME or Prior...:dead::dead::dead:
Apple rarely had problems cause no hackers/exploiters ever bothered with them.

XP is completely stable unless you're a retard with your computer.
Agreed!
XP wasn't a joke compared to ME and below's performance and stability, in my opinion.

See what you said there? 'Cause you just burned yourself.
Neither Apple nor Microsoft can lay claim to the GUI operating system, neither company invented it, they both stole it. Let me see you repeat that so I know you understand.
I know this is rather oftopic, but im thinking this thread has aready strayed away anyway so any idea who invented the first gui operating system?

Well either/or but as nice as it looks with all that green and blue **** and extra functions and stuff, it really wasn't much better than ME...

And ME wasn't that "friendly" on the average user..at least that's what the people I knew who used it said...

Xerox

Spyhop mentioned it about 30 pages back...
...

You're still in past tense. XP was, WAS, pretty bad on release.

But that was years ago.

Saying it's still a bad, unstable OS just shows how ignorant and biased you really are.

Please for the love of god no,

where's linux in that argument?????:D

edit: i change my mind it would be an exelent thread, if it was using an intelegent argument to voice their oppinions about the os's.
O we've had them Gameman.....with FAR MORE insightfull opinions than Mac GOOD, Windows BAD...
Like I said, I used up to 3 separate Mac's before this and these Intel/PC Jobs I got... I may be biased...but that's because they performed extremely well...

The only thing that has even held a candle is Vista so far...but it's only been 3 months so I can't completely give it the green light....(at least not in my opinion)..

I'm sure it has yet to show itself in it's entirety....

XP took about 3 months or so....

but back to the Tv's:

Either 42LG30 or 42LG50....

Just hoping for a spring Sale....

Cause 870.00 Canadian is the absolute max...

Don't worry, it'll be a reality soon...And then I'll post some shots...

You oughtta see it with the Trinitron.... Except for the resolution, it's really quite nice....You should see it at night though....

How would you know what performed extremely well? aside from 3D rendering and photoshopping there's nothing they can run that requires a lot of performance...or rather nothing they could run that required a lot of performance...the picture might look a little better these days...but still not much.

Also what were you saying about no screwing up your eyes a while ago?

If the room you watch in is not lit enough then you will ruin you eyes as they go through greater strain both taking in the emphasised brightness of the screen as well as the focus required.

You should always watch in a well-lit room.

So no, we should not see it at night, I would like to not have my vision impair any more and I am sure most others would feel the same.
Windows 7 > XP > ME > Vista.

.....Vista in that case doesn't even rate as a ME 2.0

I'd be willing to grant you xp over vista based on individual preference.....but rating vista under ME is just you being a fanboy. If you were forced into using ME for awhile, you'd be thanking the computer jesus if someone finally later let you use Vista.
I was gonna say that too!

Also 7 is still new to give it a fair rank!
