Here's what the Desktop display at CBIT looked like (proportionately)

For me here this is 1024 by 700, but for them it was listed as 1900 by 1000 or so.....

AND IT WAS SHARP and crisp.....No B.S. like I'm seeing here as I try and type this squinting....

It looked pretty attractive to me........

oh, and did I say SHARP?????: :eyemove::eyemove::eyemove::eyemove::eyemove:

Yes I did mean WQXGA typo there , WUXGA is about the same I was looking at the specs on a WQXGA and a WUXGA screen , didn't seen much difference at all

and big time "whoops!" on my part, it's actually a 30.2 inch WQXGA not a 42 inch , 1000:1 contrast ratio not 1Mill:1 , big time incorrect info on my part, mixed up a bunch of stats for a couple different monitors :p

Can any desktop computer graphics card even output 1080p??????

I heard it only does 720p at best...therefore TRUE HDTV ain't attainable, at least not off your computer anyway...... and believe me that's what it'll be hooked up to....

Don't have a Blu-ray player or other HDMI source or whatever... or a PS3 for that matter.......
My HDTV card and Video card have no probs with displaying TV at 1080P on my monitor!

When I press record it does record in 1920x1080

I believe you. I keep my desktop at 1900x1200 at all times.

Here's a desktop comparison of your desktop size to my desktop size. (sorry about the huge size)

I recommend a WUXGA display. If you can't afford one at the moment, I highly recommend that you save up. Your display will likely be the longest-lasting piece of hardware, so make sure it's a purchase that you won't regret. ;)

Did you even read that I know of 3 Vision Quest owners that had MAJOR probs after the warranty ran out?

yeah, I read it, I just was not thinking of the worst possible outcome...that's all

What exactly were these "problems they" encountered????

Shot tube???? pixels burning out??/?

Just curious

Some pooor sap bought a FLOOR MODEL 46" 720p $1200 daytek?

oh god.........
well at least it wasn't me....

You can get a SONY for 1200??????

C'mon Gameman, save up for a Samsung or at least the LG...
yeah, of the intelligent/reliable purchases the LG 720p seems like the best risk-free bang for the buck....it's only 850 and probably BETTER than the Viison Quest...

The Samsung however appears smaller than my Trinitron however so I'd be losing ground....but Samsung don't make a 42....just 40's

edit: to revise my last photo and make it more accurate, THIS is actually what I saw.....Only Clearer, wider and sharper...oh and 1900 x 1000 or so, see/??? Plenty of Desktop Space left over...

Here's the INTELLIGENT purchase in my price range - maybe 30-40.00 over.....

That Bravia looks good for 1200.00 may have to give it some thought....Sony is just about the best you can do.....

And 46 inches of 1080p is a significant gain.....

I may have to go this week to see it and bring a laptop with a VGA cord to test it out.....

Thanks, those and those huge newegg ones are exactly what I'm looking for.....

I have, that Sony looks like it might be worth waiting for if it's still 1200.00 in a little while....That would be worth taking out another "loan" for.....as long as it didn't take until July to get....
