42" LCD Widescreen TV as Monitor......

Well, Cid suggested it so here goes....(not the TV, the thread)

I'm getting a new monitor for my Super Build and I want it to be as BIG as possible because using this Trinitron as my monitor I have goten used to Big Icons...and I like the size of it.....Very easy on the eyes... (at least to me)

I had this TV in mind and was wondering whether any of you users have personal experience with this TV and can shed some light on it....

And Furthurmore is it a strain on your vision - not that I wanna know....

Would I be throwing my moneyt awway here? or is this a solid purchase..

Thanks mate....

Like I said, I saw it in person today and had a really GOOd look at it, even browsed in it and checked out all the Control Panels and settings in Windows AND the TV......

I'm not saying anything other than this..... It was visually stunning (as a pc monitor)......

...and this was just a 720p one....

what would you do in my shoes?????
Probably buy a decent LCD Monitor for my PC but thats just me no need to consider it.
This thread is like skipping Inuyasha episodes; 15 pages and we're still having the same discussion as we were on page 2.
I think in all this hoopla, we've lost sight of one fact.....

A TV is a monitor......

it can do 1900 by 1000 /1080p/720p just as well....

When they started producing widescreen tv's years ago, and then widescreen pc monitors, there was a bit of CROSSOVER here and that's what we're seeing now.....

I mean why do you think TV's of this capability even come with a HDMI/VGA input?????

Obviously the manufacturers think it's good enough....

And frankly so do I...

The Trinitron, however is a different story....

that pic says it all (but i think the car should have gone trough the next house's wall by now)
how far through this building do you want to go?
yeah....

I get the idea there mate

Thanks again....
bah do what you wish, its obvious you are not taking anyones advice here.
LOL interverse i say you have nearly succeeded exodus's level of intelligent humor :rotflmao:
Well I'll admit I shoulda worded it differently, but the advice I was hoping for was on particular brands/local/underground internet (commercial) deals or maybe users who have actually used any of the several brands I mentioned...So far there's only 3....

runawayprisoner, cottonvibes and mOFO...

I never in my wildest dreams expected such a backlash to just the idea itself...

But I'm confident now... I have seen it and used it.....
Gameman. How much is the TV altogether?
*flaming deleted*
Well the one I actually used and am currently standing by is 699.99 Canadian.

It's 1080i/720p and like I said Crystal clear (as a Windows Desktop Browser)

Has a 1 year warrantee and several extras.... That's all I currently know...
that's bigger than anything I've heard of by Dell.....

Like I said though, I'd be LUCKY to have that one I saw today....

But I gotta check out some other sites/stores first....and yes, Ebay
Hi mate.....Any luck with the VTLB 658 and Gran Turismo 4/????

my favorite tv all time.
I bet that would make a nice Windows Desktop!!!!!!!

Just kidding....:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
it would look good with windows 1-3 and dos, but not with the newer ones.
what do I do for a TV though?????

you see, for me it's gotta do both....

I like everything centralized....
HDTV card for your pc?????
