O yeah...I still meant to tell you this....you are not meant to litter your desktop with dozens of icons....the fewer the better...

I don't litter my desktop with icons, just 3 or 4, but the few I do have I'd like to see clearly - not to mention fine text like on that Vision quest I saw today........

They had like 45 icons and still TONS of Desktop space left over...

Here are my 5 realistic choices if I want 42" and in a reasonable time frame...

(RETAIL) (BLACK) (LVQ-42EF1A) 42" WIDESCREEN LCD TV 799.99

RCA 42" 1080P LCD TV (WAL-MART ) 797.99

Insignia 42" 1080p LCD HDTV** (NS-LCD42HD-09) 769.99

Dynex 42" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV** (DX-LCD42HD-09) 729.99

LG 42" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV** (42LG30) 720p 849.99

I know it's a sad choice but that's the realities of not being Donald Trump/Bill Gates....

I should have had em snap a photo in Windows of the desktop and email it to me - but alas there was no internet connectivity - just a game display model for demonstrations - makes sense though, my monitor or even the little one ain't capable of displaying a photo taken at 1920 by 1080......or whatever it was.....

I gotta say it DID look good.....

Once again, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with screen size. At all. Drop that mentality now.

Out of those I'd choose the LG in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even consider the others. If you want resolution, though, 720p is not the way to go.

-quality image
-cheap
-large screen
-high resolution.

You have to sacrifice one of these items because you can't have them all. I HIGHLY recommend you sacrifice on screen size, because I doubt you'd want to lose out on any of the other 3 points. It's by far better to have a quality smaller screen than a ****ty looking big screen.

Where this thread is going.
Hey dude, it's going somewhere...

My Dad dropped by today and just gave me his support....He was against a TV to begin with, but saw my point when I showed him the results from CBIT today...In otherwords he's gonna loan me another 100.00 to make this even more possible now, maybe 150.00 he said so that opens a few doors and lightens the financial burden..

I wasn't counting on anything after he chipped in for a large portion of the E8600 budget..... I guess either he "saw the light" or was in a really generous mood....

Let me remind you my parents ARE rather well-off , however I am not and live independently...so I can't always count on them - but occasionally if they think it's a good idea...

This means I could probably get something by LG/RCA now so lets me just go over the figures again and I'll let you know definitely what it's gonna be....

If I can decide now that is.....still have to look around at a LOT of local/internet places.....

But with the added support$$$$$ we're looking at 800-900 now...

Not perfect, but better:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

Of course you meant to say that you should have had them take a pic of the TV whilst it's displaying the desktop rather.

As them taking a snapshot of the desktop would be plain retarded...why? Well because we would see the image with the clarity of our own monitors...for instance your Tinitron desktop screenshot earlier whilst low res was 100% crystal clear and leggible...

The blurriness you see only exists because of the medium you are using to see it....

what??? in th cheap TV or the whole thing altogether????

Anyways it's nice to have some support, even if it's only about 15%, that's less saving I have to do and cutting corners...

This screen will happen - I just don't know when or exactly how big....

It's kind of up in the air so to speak.....

Well, whichever, but it DID look good...maybe I should've brought the digital if I borrowed it.....

Oh well too late now, but I will be back for one last look to WHEREEVER I buy it from a few days before I buy just to make sure....

Get yourself a 37" 1080P Visio
Even with my father's help I couldn't do it - in 2 month's anyway) That would require a summer-long effort, something I am not willing to endure...at this moment....

unless of course it went on sale.... and came with a tv tuner

Edit: Well, at first glance I may have to give up the high definition, at least the ULTRA high end of it anyway.....

The LG 720p one looks affordable (unless of course it changes) at 850.00....Yeah, I'd be willing to sacrifice the 1080P in favor of a 720p as long as it's The diagonal/vertical dimensions I require (to be at least equal or greater than th Trinitron)

720 p aint so bad....the one I was looking at today with that gorgeous huge desktop display at CBIT was technically 720p an even from 10 feet back I could make out the system tray.fine text.....

I dunno , I think I'd be better to get a 720p from a reliable source and have it last 4-5 years than go for a 1080 p from a not so well know source and have it go down the can in 6-12 month's......

However, a 1080p from a reliable source would be best obviously, but so far the only name that comes up in my price range so far is RCA......but Wal-Mart/Zellers - god!!!! no support whatsoever!!!!!! I used to work there when I was younger, so I know.... B.S. support......

These are currently my only 2 choices by reputable names....

No, that's where the thread started. Now everyone's telling him that it would probably be a good idea to remove the car from the building while he's insisting that the car in the wall is AWESOME!!!:drool::drool::drool::p:p:p:lol::lol::lol:

im sorry to say the car in that wall is Awesome.

anyway to try and remain on topic, just but yourself a realy big monitor or two if you preffer, it will save you alot of problems.
