Does anyone have a lot experience in 3d modelling and animation? I’m interested in modelling and rendering at the moment and would like to gain a little experience with the basic concepts of 3d design and animation. For a while I've been looking at the various freeware 3d modellers on the net (Curvy, Blender, and 3D canvas) but am having trouble choosing one. Can anyone recommend a good, easy to follow 3d modeller with good tutorials?

Thanks

3D Studio Max/Viz. Should be a boatload of tutorials on them.

I agree with saygi, C4D is a damn good program. It has a great rendering engine and awesome particle system that is really easy to use.

Dont pick a program on popularity or what most people use it for. I use C4D but dislike 3DSMax and Lightwave. Try all the free versions and get a basic understanding of what 3D is then choose one that's confortable to you.

Maya
3DSMax
Lightwave
Maxon
