A) Take the entire PSX game and stick it on to your hard drive (which I can), and play it off there.

B) Use the PS2 bios (which I have) to play PS2 games with ePSXe!

A)This is what we call an ISO(everybody knows that).

B)Totally impossible since the ePSXe core doesn't have any functions to emulate PS2 and that if you use the PS2 bios it won't even start.

Dumbest.
Idea.
Ever.
It's not the dumbest idea ever, smartass.
The BIOS IS the system, fuck face.

PSX and PS2 are almost identicle other than in hardware.
They designed it like that so can play PSX games on PS2.

(I was looking for that thread too).
You're definately your own worst enemy.

The PS2 uses a PSX processor in one of it's subsystems. It depends on this PSX processor to play PSX games, when the situation arises. Otherwise, the PS2 architecture is vastly different from the PSX, hence all the complaints early on about how hard it is to develop for, compared to it's predecessor. The BIOS is definately NOT the system. To say that the two consoles are identical, except for hardware, is hysterical. Thats like saying that a bicycle and the space shuttle are identical, except for thier propulsion systems.

Think, research, then post. Not the other way around. In addition, personal attacks only make enemies. If I was an admin, you'd already be banned.
What.....???!

The Bios is a simple piece of software encoded on a chip that allows basic input-output and booting. It pales in comparison to the rest of the system! It's not even the CPU for goodness sakes which is considered to be THE core of any computer system.

To summarize the effects of using a PS2 bios in a nutshell, using a such a bios on a PS1 emulator will do nothing. The bios is incompatible with the hardware and will be unsuccessful in controlling anything. Besides, Epsxe is not even programmed to read that thing!

Do you ever learn? - The PS2 has a completely different BIOS, just because it can play PSX games doesn't mean you can use it on a PSX emulator. Playing PSX games is built into the PS2 BIOS, true; but thats only a secondary part of the BIOS, the BIOS on the PS2 was ment to play PS2 games and be able to play PSX games piggy-backed off the PS2's sound processor (which IS the main processor used in the original PSX).
You're all forgetting that some day someone will release on PS2 emulator.

Emulators, are purely software. So are systems. Hardware doesn't mean shit. Like you idiots alway fail to realize that software is supposed to be built around hardware.

Dirk_gently, interesting idea. Yes, I do believe that is the answer.

yes some day some one will release a ps2 emulator.

until then, the ps2 bios are not nessacary

hard ware doesnt mean shit huh?
so if i take win2k and try putting it in a 386, it'll run just fine?
i dont think so
sx/amiga always been polite and wise to another
this guy had the philosophy of a moogle :D
Can you specify moogle....because he might be a bit confused...
Beyond confused

He's beyond confused. He's the most deliberate moron I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing.

"Emulators, are purely software. So are systems. Hardware doesn't mean shit. Like you idiots alway fail to realize that software is supposed to be built around hardware."

Truly magnificent. Software is written FOR hardware, not AROUND hardware. On any platform, any hardware, the software is sending instructions to the hardware. The software MUST be compiled to run on the hardware in question, because the software has to send the right instructions to make things happen. Crack a book on microprocessors and computer architecture, you might learn something.

An emulator (basically) works by translating machine instructions meant for the original platform into instructions that can make sense to the platform that the emulator is running on. I imagine that this takes the form of a series of virtual instructions for each "real" machine instruction recieved from the software (in this case, a PSX game.) Therefore, the emulator has to understand the machine instructions it's recieving, which ePSXe certainly WOULD NOT, if the software in question is a PS2 game. The PS2 game would most assuredly not even begin to boot, because it doesn't have the proper bootstrap code that the emulator needs to get everything going. This has nothing to do with a bios, it has everything to do with the fact that they are 2 completely differant platforms.

A PS2 emulator may be available someday (as a matter of fact, the licensed PS2 developers are already using them, so it's certainly possible.) To postulate that the only change necessary to run PS2 games on a PC is to use ePSXe with a PS2 bios is ludicrous, the dreaming of a technological half-wit; someone who knows just enough to be dangerously stupid (and downright comical!)

SX/Amiga!!! Do us all a gigantic favor and ban this idiot. He's completely lost all novelty.

Go, dirk! While I doubt that banning really is an option, I'd have to agree with you on all other points. Any way ppl, don't waste your time argueing with this guy, he's hopeless :p He and his like and their misconceptions will persist no matter how hard you try to convince them.
Everything not easy as you thing................
8 bit orgy, here ya go again....There are a LOT LOT LOT of people above your smart-brain (if you think you're smart, you DO think you are, right?)

"Hardware doesn't mean shit?" Wow, you're really genius...So, where'd you stick all of your software then? on your brain?

Well, I don't know what is your purpose to come here (first you said that you're searching for help) Is it a sensation? or some attention that you need? coz you sure get it from here as a polite boy (VERY VERY polite, indeed)
well 8 bit orgy, giving ideas is hard. Thats why u suck at it...
Deja vu?
