Hello there, I opened up directx diagnostic tool to see my computer specs. At processer, it says I have 2 P4 2.6ghz processors. The problem is that I only have 1 processor! Device manager confirmed it; according to my computer, I have two processors.

Would this be degrading my performance or processor efficiency? How do I get the computer to recognize that there's only one? Has anyone had something like this happen?

Thanks to anyone who responds.

In my limited knowledge, I think it could be because of hyper-threading, which makes the computer thinks you have two CPU and would be faster in certain situations. I don't think have the HT would lower performance in any way, though probably can disable it in the bios.

Yea. It says that in some programs for me too. ;) It's because of HT like stilz said :) Nothing to be worried of. Some people say that HT decreases performance in some things, while it increases performance in others. For me I havn't noticed any real difference with it on or off. :p

It is the Hyper-Threading, nothing to worry about.
