Gonna try this, I need something to get me away from ABC; it's been crappy to me lately.

The wonderfull thing about it is the developer commitment to LISTENING. He considers what the users are asking and tries to satisfy everyone while keeping true to the original goals of the client. I think thats a great attitude :)

I'll try it out in a couple of minutes. Speed isn't much of an issue for me as I don't download torrents often (I seed a ton though :p), neither is resource usage. But small applications are always nice :). I used to use ABC way back when but I had issues with its memory usage randomly going out of control, so I switched to Azureus. It uses a lot of resources but the amount it uses is more stable than what ABC used :p. I also like the amount of features it has. I'm interested in seeing how this client is :).

My verdict: #$%^en love uTorrent! Speeds are much faster (opened the same torrent at almost the same time with u and ABC [opened with ABC first] and u grabed sources far faster than ABC and dl was ~ 195 for u where ABC was ~55). ABC would stay open in the background after being closed and would need to be ended, often noticed when restarting; no such problem with u.

Agreed, µtorrent rocks, I can use it without slowing my games down, and it weights only 86kb!

Azureus got a trip to the recycle bin

question : does utorrent have diskcaching to reduce HD thrashing? im thinking of completely switching over from azureus.

Yeah, it has this feature, but be sure to enable it before starting DLing, cause it's default disabled
