@ES - MorphX
October 13, 2009 by @ruantec
since my personal problems are as good as solved am having more free time to work on the stuff i like and that´s no other than @ES. am really sorry for delays but my personal life was a nightmare in the past 10 months so no wonder i couldn´t clear my mind and focus on @ES… anyways now that´s past and i should go on.
so what is @ES - MorphX?
@ES - MorphX is the fusion of two projects where the viewer was based on @ES classes that evolved in very short time into a nice project that brought light to many dark areas and problems i didn´t saw in the past. other than that my @ruanViewer brought new ideas that are now inherited after the code has been finally added back to @ES and that´s no other than dynamic skin size, better memory usage and optimizations.
Why the new Codename MorphX and not Darksamus???
The codename change its simple and to avoid confusions am going to explain it right here and right now… the "Darksamus" codename was given to the project because of the great help of "Darksamus" alias Shadow and was the codename for the new version of @ES… the reason for the change is because as i previously explained i´ve lived the worst 10 months of my life because of personal problems in my real life so i barely found time to code and develop @ES codename Darksamus… because of that i was depressed several times… having that codename sadly reminds me those bad times(has nothing to do with Darksamus(Shadow)) and therefore i decided to change the codename in order to start again(so to say) with the project many of you love. i hope you guys can understand me and specially you Darksamus(Shadow).
What´s next??
EMULATION!
Compatibility???
@ES - MorphX targets newer OS such as Vista and mainly 7 as it uses several stuff that are possible because of the new features added to the mentioned OS´s anyways @ES MorphX is going to work fine under XP using a slightly modified version of the previous @ES methods to render the emulators.
Memory usage???
@ES - MorphX memory usage is going to be on par with the old @ES but in some cases the memory usage is going to be lower and in others higher.. it actually depends on the skin, menu, objects loaded etc.. we have to take in mind that @ES - MorphX uses and load more objects in memory than the old @ES and therefore the memory usage could be slightly higher in some cases.
Here are few pics of the current development after the viewer code was added back(not much changes yet but they will start to show after i add the first emu which is probably Dolphin or PCSX2 i guess)

Enjoy this pics for now because the next time i post something its going to be a emulator being rendered under @ES ![]()

A delay is nothing to be sorry about, you gotta do what you gotta do. Other than that, great to hear that your problems are now in the past.
Keep up the good work!
( hehe, nice smiley )
ok i did some changes to the code yesterday and guess what????? i got the best results ever in @ES!!!!
if many of your remember.. the old version of @ES never use less than 50+ MB of memory and when its playing music it goes over 60+ sometimes.. that was fine but i thought i can beat that ^^
now check out what i got after loading several albums and playing a song with the new version of @ES
UPDATE:
to make this comparation even better here´s a pic of the old @ES playing/holding the same albums/audio. as you can notice the memory usage is definitely higher... taking in mind am not using custom covers in the old one.
