I think its worst when shows that are also for a great deal aimed at younger kids do it. Example: Digimon Tamers.

I mean thats probably my favourite digimon series of all time. But it probably somehow managed to destroy every kids hapiness as soon as they killed leomon and then had the most emo arc of emo last arcs.
