Ciao a tutti,:guitar:
I have modified the original shader for speedup and i have corrected some bugs in glsl ones (now it runs!).
If ShadX don't like it i can delete it...
VERY IMPORTANT: "Screen Filtering" must be turned on!

Hi all.

I am also having problems to run FF 9. I did the config as in the first post, but everytime I try running it I get the msg "missing fraemebuffer object extension" and "missing shader extensions!" is there a way to solve this?

My PC is a very old one, it's an Atlon 2000+ 1.67 GHz, 256 RAM, G-Force-4 64M

I like very much the P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17 plugin, it gives me a great image in every game I've tested, but in FF9 in particular, when using it, I cant see the command windows in the battles, also I can't see the HP and MP of my pers. Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you very much.

Use OpenGL 1.76 instead of 2.8, and set the off-screen drawing to the max, that way you should see the command window.

Not if you configure it right, go to Kane's site to find out the best config.

yeah, you can use a texture filtering for that, but i preffer to play without it...

Your graphic card is old, try to decrease settings a little, that should speed up the game,
also if you are playing off cd make the ISO.

Btw: don't make multiple posts, use the edit button.
Also this is OpenGL2 thread, if you need more help make a new thread.

yes, make your own thread. this is only for OGL2 and graphics related questions, not for other plugins or performance related gripes.

And there it is. The initial download is quite light (around 150k) and it only takes a few minutes for you to rip the CD.

Damn nice plugin =O Loading times in-game are very neat.. However, there's one issue I want an answer on.

I play PAL-games and they often require Sub-channels to be read.
Since I answer in this FF IX thread, it means I want to play FF IX Pal without patching with PPF-files (Hate them), so it is a way to obtain the SUB-files with this plugin in any way? I can't start FF IX PAL with the ISO (savestates can be used as a work-around btw, but playing from savestates is risky tbh)

Is it possible to select "Read subchannels" in the plugin?

EDIT: Nope, not possible :/ Guess I'm back to CloneCD img+sub-96

I got pissed off with FFIX PAL so I just bought the NTSC version. I got it sealed for an insanely cheap price (GH though ). Then I sold my PAL version and got a profit. All in all: good investment.

themaister, i dont quite see what you are getting at. if you're playing off CD, peops CDR reads subchannels...and if you're playing off ISO, you can either download a patch, make one with peops CDR plugin, or use cloneCD to make an image with subchannels. hell, ISO producer might even do it..

Yeah, but I don't want the CD- spinup to occur so I went back to the old CloneCD way. Anyway, I wanted to use ISOProducer since it was very fast at making at making those ISO's.. (Actually, after formatting my PC, CloneCD was just as fast -.- But,
1. I hate PPF-patches since they always contain some cheats or "trainers",
2. If you read my post it stood that I went back to CLoneCD
3. Selecting "Read subchannels" doesn't work here :/, in the sense that it take around 10 mins for the Drive to fully read the SUB.

Trying to get FFIX to work. I had it going all ok except for some minor problems like the missing command window in battles and some dodgy sound. I tried some fixes for this and ended up with it not working at all.I'm currently in the process of turning my disks into ISOs to see if that will make a difference (the sound seems to be interlinked with the graphics, so when they chop, the sound does too.)

Sys Specs: (please don't laugh at my rig.)
512 RAM
40GB HDD
Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz
Intergrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2: 96MB

EDIT: Fixed. used Pete's d3d and clicked that lovely little button and set everything to "Nice." Everything runs fine except for some serious slowing down in the menu and horrible sound in the FMV. It's not too bad though, and I don't want to mess with anything.

yeah you shouldn't be using OGL2. i think i need to add a part to the beginning of this thread stating that everyone who doesn't meet the required specs should just leave.

anyway, try using Eternal for sound, and lower the resolution that you're playing at. you migth want to allocate more RAM to your graphics. if you're still having trouble, make a new thread so as not to clog this one.

here's my plugin config btw.I only play at 800x600 since i only have a 15" monitor and playing at 1024x768 @ 60Hz hurts my eyes.
(edited the config, that was a config for another game hehe)

Setup:
AMD AthlonXP 2500+ @ 2Ghz
1GB Ram
GeForce 6600GT 128MB @ stock speeds
ForceWare 84.43 Beta
Where can i find the shader you used?

Yes, READ THE THREAD TITLE. C'mon, do it. I'll wait.

This thread, as I've said before inside this very thread, is only for the tweaking of OGL2 specifically, not general "how do I config" questions. Furthermore, this is a thread for FF9. So make your own thread, don't threadjack, especially off topic. If you do it again, you're looking at a ban.
