Re: N64/PSX Usb Adaptor

If you want a N64 Controller Adaptor the [i[Apadtoid [/i]is your best buy. I have one - I really like it - and I use it for SNES,GBA,N64,and even sometimes PSX emulation. It has full support for Rumble paks, Transfer paks, Memory Paks, Keymapping, Complete customization, has a decent Windows XP driver set, and is basically the same as having a real N64 controller port hooked up to your computer - just with more features. More information is available here

Personally I think that it is worth the $18 more that it costs. I haven't tried that PSX/N64 adaptor, but I don't think it is of *especially* high quality - I have see a few people who are having major problems with it - but you are better off trusting first-hand experience from them .

I own many of those (bought them bulk). I haven't had a problem with a single one, nor have those that I've sold them to. Not as high quality as the Adaptoid I'll admit, but for a cheap two-in-one adapter it's a good buy.

I just got this adapter and it works great on the PSX side, but the N64 side has only one VERY BIG problem. The Y-ax goes crazy when i move the stick. It keeps moving up and down so fast mario wont run or walk straight. I have damaged my parallel adapter and perhaps damaged my N64-pad too. But all other buttons and the X-ax work fine. And i don't have a real N64 to test it on.

Now you say you have a lot of these i realy think it's my controller. Or do you know what this could be?

The Boom adapters seem to be very flaky with N64 pads. I've never had a problem (I bought my N64 pad brand new), but I've known a few people who have. For instance, my brother bought an adapter from me. One of his pads works fine, the other won't work at all. Both pads work fine with the console.

How do you use it for SNES, PSX, GBA ?? isn't it a N64 only thing?
Also how does it compare to the real thing? any diferences in control?

It's just an adapter. As far as your computer is concerned it's just any old USB gamepad. It will work with anything that accepts joystick input.

I guess I got a little confused about that, but that still doesn't answer the second question, in a N64 emulated game will the controls be like the real one or will there be diferences (in terms of precision, etc)?
