Freeware PC games thread (/w screenshots)
Over the past...time, I've encountered quite a bunch of pretty cool PC freeware games, so I thought it would be a cool idea to make a thread about them. This is the idea of the thread: you post a screenshot of a PC freeware game you found (and think is cool) + (if possible) a download link. When posting links, make sure you dont run into illegal stuff. So watch out, there are certain abandonware sites out there that have lots of freeware but also illegal material. Usually if you post a link directly to the author's site, that would be the best I guess.... |

I'll start. this is a shot of Giana Worlds, a Giana Sisters remake (which is a Mario clone from the C64/Amiga). Allthough the remake does lack a few things, it does have completely new levels, and improved gfx and music. http://www.rbi.informatik.uni-frankf...ianaWorlds.htm |

Has Sam & Max: Hit the Road been released as Freeware yet? It's older than GTA and GTA was released as freeware.

Lucasarts recenty re-released Sam 'N' Max and DOTT as a dual pack. Just because it's old doesn't mean it automaticaly becomes freeware. Very few companies do that. Admittedly there is abandonware, but that relies on companies not caring rather than them specificaly stating that they can distribute it.

What DOTT? Samor, are you running XP? I have XP Pro and I can't get this game working even if I run it in 98 or 95 compability modes. |

another shmup: Cho Ren Sha 68k actually this is a windows port from an X68000 (lets say that it's the japanese equivalent for the amiga) game. Very fast paced but it's not just throwing superbombs; bullets ought to be dodged ![]() controls are the same as in technosylph site: http://www2.tky.3web.ne.jp/~yosshin/ch68/ch68.html (again japanese, but the download links are easy to find) |

Greetings, You've finished the game on your own Psicomaniaco?? Because I couldn't do it alone, I had to search for a walkthrough on the internet... Of course I was 13-14 when I played the game, so it was a lot more difficult... The puzzles were downright insane ![]() Live long and prosper.

There's a game called Dink Smallwood (yes, that does sound funny, and was completely intentional by the creators ). It's a fun rpg'ish zelda type game. Doesn't take more than a few hours to beat, and the humor in the game is pretty damn funny. I recommend going through it to you all. Here's a couple of screenshots from their website. http://www.rtsoft.com/graphics/screenshots/dink1.jpg http://www.rtsoft.com/graphics/screenshots/dink2.jpg http://www.rtsoft.com/graphics/screenshots/dink3.jpg Their link for downloading it seems to be down, but through their forums, they have provided other links. http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~dink/di...on=File&ID=216 I just tested the game (haven't run it since i switched to XP a long while ago), and it seems to run quite fast. However there seems to be a patch that is supposed to fix it. http://www.rtsoft.com/dink/dink_107_upgrade_beta3.exe If not, I'm sure there will be a sollution on their forums. http://www.rtsoft.lunarpages.com/htb...gi?;act=SF;f=3 Have fun, the game is worth it. ^_^ |
