Wireless XBox360 controller needs the wireless adapter, which is no longer in production. You can find Chinese knock-offs, or if you think you are lucky enough, hit up Amazon and look it up. If you can somehow get the adapter, then the wireless 360 controller is the best. It works out of the box for most modern games, you don't have to do more than the initial setup. It connects wirelessly just like on an XBox 360, and it kicks arse. Second best choice (but also the most versatile) is a DualShock 3 controller. You need to activate it every time you plug it in, but it can emulate a 360 pad, or you can remap it to keyboard buttons for games that don't support gamepads at all, and best of all, the layout and handling is a natural for emulation or some console-port games. And it works like a real PS2 controller with PCSX2. (as in it also does button pressure sensitivity and all that jazz) |

I use a 360 wireless controller for modern games; For emulation a ps2 pad width usb adapter (sort of the predecessor to the ps3 pad solution) |

I use wired 360 for everything on PC, prefer it this way as I don't need to charge it every now and then

Personally i also prefer the Xbox360 pad (wired) on PC, i love the buttons position and the feel of it, as for mapping gamepad to keyboard/mouse any pad can do that with joytokey.
