Hey that looks very nice.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation, I'll keep that in mind.

Getting the parts this friday.
It takes a couple of days to deliver from Miami to my town in DR.

Anyways I made a deal with my laptop, will get 500 bucks, plus will get 400 from other things.
Will be in the market for an Ultrabook or Macbook Air/Pro now that my HTPC is enough for the house, just need something light to be with me all day out.

One thing I know is that right now is not the best time to buy a laptop, when Ivy Bridge refreshes are in a month or two.

Will have to wait a bit, if I don't get an Ivy Bridge version, at least the Sandy Bridge will be cheaper too.

If you are getting anything in the Ultrabook range, get a MacBook Air. That's a no brainer because the MacBook Air has higher resale value.

But honestly, if it's like that, I think you may want to just grab some random $300 Acer laptop and be done with it.

Come on.
How can you recommend me an Acer.
I thought you knew me better by now.

Will wait for the next Zenbooks or Macbook Airs.

I can recommend you an Acer because I can!

But all jokes aside, I think the current MacBook Air and Ultrabook are... inadequate. Not in their processing performance, but rather, in their battery life. If the MacBook Air and other Ultrabooks could maintain an average of more than 5 hours of battery life... well, that's where we'll have something to talk about.

As it is right now, what you get is shoddy and almost downright mediocre battery life... unless you are willing to deal with 13" models, which I don't consider to be all that portable.

13" is fine for me.

Hope I can resist the urge and wait for Ivy Bridge.

Man this case was hard to set up.

But it was worth it, I like it.

looks good
Is there a cover over the 5.25" bay? that doesn't look like the loader of the drive you wanted to get based on the amazon picture

SCHUMI considering that the design on the door matches the rest of the case I would assume its a door.

Yeah...but it just seems silly to me to put a door/flap on a single 5.25" bay in a tiny case so I was just wondering...

Yes it's a door.
Right now debating if I should use the USB 3.0 ports from the front of the case connected to USB 3.0 ports of the back of the motherboard or If I should convert the USB 3.0 ports from the case and convert them to USB 2.0 inside the motherboard. That way I have two extra ports USB 2.0 in the front and still have my 2 USB 3.0 ports in the back.

I think if you can keep it, then one USB 3.0 in the back and one in the front. If nothing but just for the heck of it. When you decide to get a USB 3.0 compatible HDD, then at least you won't have to plug it in the back all the time.

And that case looks massive! I bet that if I felt inclined to, perhaps I might even be able to chain like 4-6 Mac Minis inside for some rendering farm.

Did your plan with the eSATA cable work?

@RAP I know, but at least I won't be stuck with Intel HD3000, lack of bluray, and a foreign OS for my wife.

I know I have to do something with those cables but they don't distract from the tv screen.

Also that white Wii looks out of place.

Thread hijack = bah it's my thread.

Now that the HTPC is taken care of, seriously considering getting this DELL XPS 13 Ultrabook.

Love the small bezel, they fit a 13" panel on a 12" chassis.
Awesome.
Build materials are great too.

Guys should I wait for Ivy Bridge or get this one right now.

Already offered 700 on ebay to a guy, although I know he won't take that offer.
