well, i don't think people got what i said: yes, i downloaded the rom and i OWN THE GAME i only play on this because i currently do not have enough money for an action replay also, one man told me a funny quote about piracy: "piracy is not stealing, it's making a copy. think about this, my friend has a car, and i copy it (as in using a ray gun or something :P), is that illegal? no" i know it's not true but it sure is funny :P speaking of action replay... is there a way to keep the codes activated after closing the emulator? 1. Dump your cartridge, BIOS and firmware to your PC. 2. Use Rudolf's patcher to patch your ROM. 3. Pay for and download No$GBA 2.6a. (Version is important!) 4. Download No$Zoomer 2.3.0.2 (Version is important!) 5. Load your rom in No$Gba, but don't start playing. Instead, immediately load your options (F11). 6. Change Reset / Startup Entrypoint to GBA BIOS (Nintendo logo). 7. Change NDS-Cartridge Backup Media to FLASH 512KBytes 8. SAVE your No%GBA Options! >>> IMPORTANT!<<< 9. Close No%GBA. 10. Load No%Zoomer. 11. Enjoy the game. |

@LaoHu: You cannot legally get No$GBA 2.6a. The Paypal account has been down for 2 years, so you can only download the free 2.6 version from the official HP. Also, from what I know, you don't nessessarily need 2.6a, or No$Zoomer. You also don't need to start the game from BIOS, even though you need the files to run it. You also forgot to mention the antifreeze AR-code, found in the link first mentioned on page 18 of this thread. @kyler45: See here for legal advantages of emulation over real consoles. And as said multiple times, savestates do not work for DS games, only GBA. @JVIDICAN: Flip back a page or two, you'll come across a link that'll help you.

@kyler45: Remember! Using Action Replay codes make games will crash! So, be careful!

Not nessessarily, but we've seen that the "All items" code will cause story-relevant bugs (like Lance not appearing after the fight against the red Gyarados).

![]() Got the Rom Patched, and it created a .Bak file. Should I be using that or the Rom file in the emu? Does the rudolph patch help with the random freezes as well? |

The patch is against the crashes. You need the AR code in the Rudolph thread against the freezes.

I do. The game won't load if I don't activate it.

I haven't read the whole topic, but i think I'm one of the few who has this problem... On my No$gba(after tons of googling/youtubing),HG/SS runs smoothly, but now i wanted to move the .sav file to my NDS(R4),it loads the game up to the part where it tells me Player Name,Badges,Time,i click on it,and the screen turns black, and nothing happens(I can't hear the music in the background). Any help would be appreciated. Edit** And yes i can play the game just fine,if i don't touch the .sav file. |

@smilley & darkgamerlapy Both are right and wrong. You do need the anti-freeze code if you do not own no$gba 2.6a + no$zoomer. No$zoomer fixes compatibility with some games but only if used with 2.6a (that's why I said version is important). That said, if you can't reach the dev (try e-mail or something), you're going to need the AR codes with plain 2.6. @JVIDICAN You want to use the .nds file. The .bak file is your original. KEEP IT SAFE! Have fun. EDIT: with 2.6a + zoomer, loading from the bios is a necessary part. I don't think it'll even load if you don't load from bios. Last edited by LaoHu; May 19th, 2010 at 17:24.. I do have both No$GBA 2.6a and No$Zoomer 2.3.0.2, but the game still freezes on loading the game if not for the AR code. @Raidom: What exactly is a wood firmware?

I promise. Both my gf and I are playing (she has hg, I'm on ss) on 3 seperate systems (1 high-end, 1 mid-range, 1 mid-range laptop). We both have over 100 hours played, and neither of us is using the AR code. If you have 2.6a and zoomer, the only 2 things I'd advice you to check are to ensure you're playing a patched rom and (VERY IMPORTANT) load from BIOS. Firmware.bin as well as bios7 and bios9 have to be in your no$gba dir, and you HAVE to load from bios. I will make a vid for you as proof (and ss my settings). But like I said, that's the only thing we did. I promise I'm not using the code, and play for hours on end every day. @shadowgamerlapy: sorry mate. Posting from my blackberry. It's hard to recheck names on this thing. ^^; Last edited by LaoHu; May 19th, 2010 at 22:16.. Reason: @shadow |

OK, I don't run the game from BIOS, so I need the AR code. Works for me. This way, I can skip the BIOS loading by pressing F2, SPACE and ENTER in quick succession. Now we know, and knowing's half the battle!
