Ritsen yeah I'm surprised you even know of it! It translates to "zipping" like you would do with a coat or zipper hoodie. In a perfect world there would be no need to do so and all highways would be 5 lanes wide. As it is used when going from 4 to 3 lanes, or 3 to 2. In cities we wait for a red light, the normal thing to do. If you don't do so you'll have someone hit you in the side, as no one expects anyone to skip a red light.

This Monday I'll do a test drive of the new Fiat Punto Evo, which will most likely be my new car in the coming months, so I'm going to look for the 5 lane section so I can compare its acceleration to my current car. So let me already apologize to you Schumi, for not going to drive a German car in the near future

Meh, Jap cars is where it's at Unless you can afford an Audi RS4 that is.

Anyways as long as you stay with a car from a former Axis country you're just fine in my book

As for Ritsen my dad has had to drive in a Holland a few times as well so he knows the traffic system and now whenever he teaches me a new route (my directional sense is terrible, I need to be taught routes or I'd get lost) and we're on the highway and near a busy onramp my dad tells me that I must remember the Ritsen/Ritse concept.

My wife drives a japanese car (Honda Fit), while I drive a french one (Peugeot 207). I think we'll have to duel

BTW, I've an awful sense of direction as well. Life without a GPS would be hell for me

Considering my horrible sense of direction, as soon as I plan even a small amount of traveling, it'll include a GPS. I have many dreams where I'm getting lost and running late, so... I better made sure I take care of one of those problems.

Eww a Peugeot. Don't you know your car is either good or it's french?

Glad to see I'm not the only one with an awful sense of direction though.

Well it's always a good thing to consider other people when participating on the roads. Ritsen is nothing more than moving into one lane when there's an opportunity to do so while not bothering anyone, as the person behind you offers you a position.

As for my future car, it'll be Italian, who were part of the axis. Is there one good reason why I should opt for another brand?

Well my dad generally uses it when I'm not sure whether to let a car onto the highway or go myself so it usually means let that one car go and then move in whereas I'm usually tempted to stop in the middle of the highway and let the other 20 cars on first for fear one of them will missread my intentions and ram me.

And actually yes there is a reason. The itallians have no clue what power is unless the car in question has a prancing horse or a raging bull on it.
Seriously look at your Toyota, Honda and Mazda options before you take the plunge.

Mazda ratings aren't that high.

Yeah Exodus your right, they only won car of the year 2008 and since then always have been among the top rated in that event, that sure equals low ratings.

Although it pains me to say this nowdays Toyota's suck, but the other two have some nice models indeed.

I got an excellent sense of direction. If I'm the one deciding on the route, that is.
But if anyone tries to explain me the way to somewhere, I most surely will get lost.

And we had a Mitsubishi Galant Turbo before. Thing was a beast for it's small size. Ran for like a hundred years as well.
I want my first car to be something like that : D

They won car of the year in 2008... Aren't we in 2010? Also, CAR of the year, not manufacturer of the year.

If you want real information, check out a site like JDPower where they have experts rating their cars. They're average, with many manufacturers above them. Where are you getting your information of them being top of the line?

snicko wasn't impressed with Mazda. I have a Mazda and I'm not impressed. I have a coworker who's a mechanic and when I said I was having Mazda problems, he said "ew".

Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying they're crap. I'm just saying there's better out there.
