best graphics plugin for my setup? (running games choppy)

My ps2 emulator emulates a much more powerful ps2 game of mine.. on full effects. smoothly.

On lowest effects, the ps1 emulator runs an old ps1 game of mine extremely terribly, so choppy that I cannot even bare it. On full effects, it's a LOT faster, but during screen loads, the audio will repeat and the game will lag. This is particular in effective battles or screen loading.

I am EXTREMELY annoyed, this happens with or without an FPS limit of regular (200) or (60).

Here are my system specs:
2 GHZ dual
4 GB RAM
64 bit operating system
600+ GB memory

please help me so that I can play my ps1 games. I only have a limited amount of ps2 games fished out but I DO have my ps1 games available (reminiscing period of my life) and I strongly wish to play them. I read somewhere that they run faster in ISO form so I've even taken those necessary steps to back up the data (my PC eats discs sometimes) in case the disc gets damaged over time.

Please assist me with a recommended video plugin which I suspect is causing me the most issues. Graphics card is a generic modern 2011 laptop graphics card.. works well for ps2, SHOULD work well for ps1 logically.

It is a dual core, as windows 7 allows me to set an affinity for running process (that is, allocate the use of of a certain ramstick for the processing of the process) and it gives me two separate CPU sockets to choose from: CPU 0 and CPU 1. Therefore this computer is dual core.

Likewise, my processor graphics is Intel(R) HD graphics,

specifically:
---------------
Display Devices
---------------
Card name: Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Display Memory: 1696 MB

I think I need to update my graphics card... It can run my favorite Ps2 game, but that doesn't really help me in the long run. Do you guys think so?

Aside from that, any graphics plugin recommendations?
