Makaron 12 full setup guide and ins

Ok in this example i'm using the Makaron 12 Dreamcast emulator released in late 2009. Not the Makaron 12.3 which goes by the name "naomi", which i assume relies on the naomi launcher. They use different names for the bios files. First i'll cover how to set up the emulator, then i'll explain the menu options.

Bios files you need, and how to name them, and VMU file names

The 7 bios files go in your "ROM" folder, you don't need to use the VMU_BIOS.bin file, and you don't need bios for regions you don't have images for. USA is for the usa bios, EU is for the PAL bios, and JP is for the jap bios.
Dreamcast_BIOS_USA
Dreamcast_FLASH_USA
Dreamcast_BIOS_JP
Dreamcast_FLASH_JP
Dreamcast_BIOS_EU
Dreamcast_FLASH_EU
VMU_BIOS

You also need 4 VMU files you can nab from anywhere, since they are not bios files, the need to be placed in the VMU folder. And named Accordingly, make sure the path is right in the "MakaronVMU.ini" file.
PAS1VMU.bin
PAS2VMU.bin
PBS1VMU.bin
PBS2VMU.bin

Installation requirements
1. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86), it has to be this package or the program will not work. Download Confirmation

2. I'm using Direct X SDK (Feb 2010). But you should install the newest Direct X.

3. If you can run nullDC, then you can run Makaron 12, it plays some games better than nullDC, and some games don't play at all.

Makaron 12 settings explained "Makaron.ini"
The options below are also my suggested default settings, MMU game can be played but freeze, and go very slowly, so don't play them!

[Settings]
quantlimit = 1 -------can crash if set to 0, small speed gain in MMU mode
region = 1 -----Region 0=Jap,1=Usa,2=Pal
cable = 0 -----0=Vga,1=RGB EURO/SCART,2=Composite video
LCD = 0 ------VMU overlay transparency 0-3, hardly noticeable
fullscreen = 0 ------Set to 1 to enable, press Alt+F4 to quit
speedstats = 1 --------Set to 1 will show some speed statistics (fps,sh4 spd)

[SH4]
core = 2 -------0=normal interpreter,1=fast,2=recompiler - 2 is default
clockmin = 160 ------100 to 400 range, keep above 100 and below 200
clockmax = 275 -----same range as before, too high make slow, to low same
MMU = 0 ------for WinCE games,0=default,1=ON, slows down emulator/crash

[AICA]
buffer = 2048 ----Sound buffer 512 to 8192 range, in powers of 2
accuracy = 32 ----AICA channel processing accuracy, 1-128 range

[PVR2]
pixelcenter = 0 ---Fix some ATI cards, default=0, 1=enable to fix screen tear
forcetrilinear = 1 ---Some game not run if set to 0,trilinear filtering mipmaps
anisotropy = 4 ----0=off,4=default, range is 0-16, sometimes no effect

Games tested with Makaron 12

Street Fighter Alpha 3 - works perfect(Select "SEGA COMPATIBLE" controller option)
Incoming - works perfect
Cannon Spike - works perfect
Record of Lodoss War - works perfect (select "DIGITAL TRIGGERS" Controller option)
Sonic Adventure 2 -nullDC plays slightly better
Skies of Arcadia - works perfect (select "SEGA COMPATIBLE" controller option)

Crash or no work

Resident Evil 3 - crashes when you shoot
Ikaruga - goes back to bios screen
worms armageddon MMU - makaron very slow - barely playable/freezes
sega rally 2 MMU - makaron very slow - not playable
resident evil 2 MMU - makaron very slow
worms world party MMU - makaron very slow, freezes in game

Resident Evil 3 Does work perfectly in nullDC 104 r50, Ikaruga works good in nullDC too.

SEE ATTACHMENT - NO BIOS FILES INCLUDED

I configured Makaron 12, for you however you have to dump your own bios files and rename them and put them in the folder described above, it plays .gdi images so make sure you are using that format with your game dumps also

OPTIONALLY - here is a link i found for it, its the Binary for Dreamcast

I have used your premade version but only one problem as I cannot configure the x-y axis on my gamepad ,the buttons work but not the up ,down ,left ,right keys.

Any thoughts on this?
Thanks.
