Stuck on Sonic Adventure
Filled with nostalgia I started to play SA 1 again, but the problem is that on the second stage (after the tornado) theres a loop that I can't get past, when sonic reaches the vertical he stops as if he had hit a wall and falls into the nothing. I thought it could be that my controller is not responding well and sonic makes a sudden turn and hits the side of the loop walls but whats more frustating is that I had played this game years ago with a cheap-ass USB controller and now even with an original and almost new PS2 controller the same things happens :O Could someone share a save after completing stage 2 :P? |

There's odd bugs with those semi-auto bits, such as the loop-the-loop in stage 1, but for me they only happen occasionally and I've very recently played past stage 2. Is it happening every single time for you? Do you hold forward during these parts? Also are you using the latest version? (currently 1.0.4 r133) |

Long shot, but is 'Enable CP Pass' enabled in the menu? Apparently that speeds up emulation slightly but makes a few glitches, I have that switched off, so try unticking it. If that doesn't work then maybe switching to Interpreter mode (untick 'Dynarec') for those parts, then switching back will work. Shouldn't have to though, as I don't need to. |

I've just played through Sonic's story mode with only a couple of glitches, none of them repeating. The most regular glitch is Sonic getting stuck in the ground and doing a crazy tapdance thing for a while. Problem with Sonic Adventure is you can't be sure which bugs are emulation-based, and which are just because the game is a complete glitch/bug-ridden mess anyway. |

I've been trying to play Sonic Adventure International Version, which is supposed to fix a lot of these glitches, however I'm finding myself getting stuck on every single loop in the game. My favorite stage, Windy Valley, seems nearly unplayable. Being my favorite stage, I like to go for speed runs. But emulated, I just can't do it. I've tried disabling dynarec to find that even on my beast of a gaming machine (AMD FX-8120@3.9ghz 16gb Nvidia GTX 560 1gb) it runs very slowly and choppy and I just can't get the timing right. Should I just keep trying the newer versions and hope that the Dynarec is improved? I'm running 1.0.4 r136.

The FX line of processors isn't really that great. Trust me, I was thinking of getting them, but the research shows that they are pretty bad at single-core performance. nullDC uses, at best, 2 or 3 cores. The FX processors only really shine when all 8 cores are going. Even then, they're aren't the godly processors they've been advertised as. I thought that disabling Dynarec fixed my problem when I got stuck at the same spot a long time ago. I managed to get through it somehow... Maybe you should disable the CP pass and Underclock FPU options? That may help too.
