Seeing as Shalma went silent without saying anything, then yes, this project is just as active as no$gba. So much for having hope to see this project continue...

Comments like this don't exactly strike me as too thankful, especially the "chickened out" part. Sure, it may be frustrating to have aroused hopes disappointed, but it's not like the world owes us a better Nestopia. ![]() Everyone should be thankful and happy that there even is such a thing, and even more so if someone is interested enough to make some changes for the better. If you're desperate to improve on this, the source is there for anyone to look into. |

I never said I wasn't grateful, and I changed the words to "went silent" because of how frustrating it is when people have more potential for the emulation scene than they realize, but refuse to admit it

And well from an "English" Nestopia user's point of view, I wonder what one can expect more from Nestopia ? As you know the best part of the No-Intro set is pretty well done.. You can place Japanese to English (not archived and exact same name as rom) ips patches in the patch folder.. enable auto patch.. (tick) and all (J) games will auto load in English.. The "other" changes are not so much related to English users at all.. Mostly Chinese roms.. So what expectations do you really have ? |

I didn't know people still wanted to work on it, since Shalma went silent, so, I stand corrected.

I think they're expecting a release of some sort...? Not sure what they're expecting, but they probably think that, since Shalma went silent, they don't know what to expect.

Please disable the process priority auto-boosting as it causes a severe system freeze on my old single core AMD...

@eadmaster When I get a chance, I will send you a build which has no 1.41 source code in it.. (1.41.1 includes 1.41 + some useful bits) It has various other fixes and should be considered a 'test' build. I will be very interested to see if you have the same problem. @9.95 Ok, I was planning on doing a proper release, but I kept finding things to do.. ha dragon2snow has been working hard on Nestopia, he is a Chinese programmer and has done some great work at making more ROMs work. One day, once he has taken Nestopia as far as it can go, I am sure a release will follow. Some of the 'fixes' take a lot of time ! I am glad he has the patience to continue. If anyone has any coding skills, what would be cool would be if someone could find a way to add support like EmuVT does. Last edited by Oxyandy; December 19th, 2012 at 04:58.. |

Help for a rookie
I am brand new to all of this. My goal is to use two wii remotes with Nestopia on my Mac to play two player games. I managed to use a program called Darwiin Remote to get the wii controller to run via bluetooth. I also ran a small prompt in Terminal to run the program twice, which let me successfully operate two Wii remotes at the same time....the problem is that both controllers are for player 1. Im hoping you can help me make this work on the Nestopia side of things, and everything seems good to go otherwise. Thank you so much for your help! |

So as someone who has skimmed the thread and has a general idea of what was going on could someone summarize and maybe update me on what was/is going on with this? From what I can tell there was a request to add enhanced stereo support that eventually got somewhat overtaken by trying to add support for more mappers and thus improve compatibility as well as a few features like dual screen support and things of that nature. It also looks like there were a few download links put up but some hoopla over another site posting them as news got them taken down. And now the thread has gone relatively silent for 6 or so months though I'm not sure the project has actually been abandoned. So I guess I'm wondering if anyone could let me know how/if this is coming along and what the latest download is (is it the one quoted earlier on this page?). Also if feature requests are accepted I'd like a Famicom disk swap feature so I can take save data from Deep Dungeon 1 to 2 within the emulator itself, if that's even remotely possible. And thanks to everyone who has worked on this. I love Nestopia and improving it makes you a good person in my book. |

The guy who was working on this all but disappeared; I really don't know where he went. Suffice to say, the one posted should be the most up to date version.
