[Wii] Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
*AS SPOILER FREE AS IT GETS* Legend of Zelda series is dated back to NES days, being a well known and commercially successful franchise. It is an action - adventure title with rpg elements, that tells of the story of a young man (elf) called Link that raises up to be the hero of his people, by saving his kingdom, the world, and of course the beautiful princess Zelda from the hands of evil. The game itself is a direct port from Gamecube, with a few changes like wii remote integration and reverse (left to right) play for right handed people. System tested on: Wii (Pal), 576i composite Graphic: 8.5/10 The game graphics are beautiful artistically, with impressive huge bosses, and a more mature and darker style compared to previous game installments. There are particle effects being used like in the twilight realm, that make the realm feel like is fading, giving it a melancholic and beautiful touch at the same time. The cutscenes are well made, beautiful and well presented, with some details being easier to notice due to the close ups (read below). But the game is a port from gamecube and it shows, with the biggest problem being that the graphics are blurry with fuzzy colors, it is by far the most blurry game for wii that i have encountered. All this blurriness that is increased by the bloom lighting kind of ruins your experience with the game. I would give it a 9.5 if it weren't for the fuzziness, and 10 if it weren't a port and utilized wii 's potentional. Sound: 9/10 The game sound is good, with some old tunes coupled with some new ones being good but definitely not spectacular. A nice touch is that you can hear you swords swing from the remote, and if you mute the remote sound, you can hear it from the tv. The game lacks any spoken dialogue whatsoever. Gameplay 9/10 The most important thing to notice is that it features many crazy gadgets for you to use, with some nice new additions. The puzzles are smart but not difficult, and the fights are an enjoyment due to the nice controls. Using gestures for slashing and stabbing is well made and not tiresome whatsoever. The length is quite big for a zelda game, it will take you about 60 hours to finish it. However beside the vast amount of gadgets, you will find yourself using some of them mainly for a specific dungeon and some of them not at all during the entire game! Also Twilight Princess is quite easy, especially the boss fights. To make you understand just how easy it is, i finished the game using only two potions (in sidequests), and i lost only at some boss fights until i understand the way to beat them (afterwards they were a piece of cake). I even beat the final boss by starting with three hearts only, and without using a potion (i picked up hearts from the battle field). And since it is that easy, it makes the sidequests of finding pieces of heart, extra bottles, poes etc. meaningless since they are literally more trouble than they worth it. Only the hidden moves quest was a little important at the end, the rest reward you with items that make your already easy life even easier, after getting yourself into a lot of trouble. Replay 8.5/10 Well the sidequests are meaningless to pursue due to the game difficulty, in contrast of their own. But it is still a beautiful game to watch again with a nice presentation and a couple of nice mini games to hook you up. Overall score 8.75/10

I think the replay value should of been like a 5. I would never want to do all that stuff over again. I still havn't even finished my first playthrough >_<.

Yeah, even though Zelda games are extremely fun, I don't think that I have really ever replayed a Zelda game unless it was for nostalgic reasons. The only exception was Minish Cap. Extremely awesome game that I've played several times.

The Wii version fails, the controls feel tacked on, and flipping the entire world to suite right handed people sucked. hell im right handed yet i realise that the triforce symbol must be on the left hand. |

This was the first game I got when I got my Wii (I got this and COD3) I thought it rocked, I finished it, the game to me at least surpasses OOT (Woah step back I know) as the story is at least more engaging then past LOZ titles in which it is generally what is lacking the most, story. Also there is not 560i, I think you mean 576i. |

I'm currently after the Temple of Time, and along with Super Mario Galaxy, is one of the games that is worth having for the Wii. Only drawbacks I see are the port from GC (inferior graphics, mirrored gameplay, tacked-on controls) and a really bad camera. Other than that, the game delivers a lot more than other games out there.

Super Mario Galaxy, Sonic and the Secret Rings and NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams look as if they are one generation ahead of Twilight Princess in terms of graphics. And two games I mentioned are Sonic Team ones ffs. Had Twilight Princess been built with the Wii in mind, it would have looked kick-ass.

lol, the GCN is plenty capable of powering a much better looking Zelda game, however, its limited by the fact it can only accept up to 2GB Minidvd's (the norm being 1.4GB

the sonic game sucked so hard that it had to have SOMETHING redeeming about it. Galaxy could of looked better if they weren't rendering all the models in one world at the same time. I'm waiting for a real rpg for wii *mouth water*. Quote:

Also, I heard somewhere (I believe it was the GamePro review) that a lot of things are opposite in the both versions of the game for the Wii and GC. For example, the hand that holds the sword is different in each game. I suppose that's why the Triforce was on the opposite hand in the Wii version.
