Uh oh. Well it was only a matter of time before we actually got to see the box. Sony India has leaked information about the upcoming PlayStation 4, not before promptly removing all the information. The active link that was once here, has now been removed. The console was listed, for 399 Euros ($515USD/$525AUD) and included a 250GB Hard Drive. NeoGAF were quick on the case getting as much information on it as possible on the upcoming Sony Console.

As shown above, this would validate all rumors that the PlayStation 4 would be retailing at a cheaper launch price than the PS3 did. The current estimation now stands at $400USD to $500USD. It would be a surprising figure if Sony in fact releases the console at this more than reasonable price for consumers, as gamers we're in a rage when Nintendo announced the Wii U was retailing at $350 for their Deluxe bundle, with the belief that the Wii U was running on last gen hardware. As price stands in other countries such as Australia right now, EB Games has estimated an Aussie Price of $899 which is surely now going to take a bit of a dive at an estimated $699, which is still a bit of an asking price. Although you have to remember, they have to cover shipping costs from manufacturers to get the consoles to these outer countries.

Nothing has been officially announced by Sony Computer Entertainment or Sony Worldwide, but all is expected to be announced at this years E3. So yes, once again, take this for what it's worth, a slip up that may have been completely wrong altogether, although, as stated in a previous article NeoGAF are never usually wrong on these things, we could be looking at a decently priced next gen console here.

I have my Xbox Controller S set-up through x360ce on Windows 7 x64. I'm using the Mayflash Super Joy Box 9 driver (aka Tiger Gamepad). If I set the driver to "digital" mode then everything works except the sticks and triggers (this is expected). If I set it to "analogue" mode then the D-Pad doesn't work for x360ce. There are only these two choices, and this later behaviour I'm sure is wrong. The four D-Pad buttons are still recognised by the PC (for example they work in Cave Story+), just not as XInput nor by the x360ce configuration utility.

Can anyone help with this? Thanks

After seeing that I'm officially hyped for this game. Gone is the washed out look of the original GRID but back is all the brilliant racing. Now it looks sharp and superb and we already know the racing itself should be good from the past.

This might just be one of those game where I absolutely have to get it close to release and simply can't wait any longer.

Any other racing fans feel the same? Or doesn't it win you over and you'd rather save for those next consoles and their games?

Hey everyone,
I've been having some fun testing out OpenGL2 and shaders and such in ePSXe 1.8, but my computer isn't designed for playing games and so some games I have to play with the soft plugin.

An example of this is WWF: SmackDown! 2 Know Your Role. Whilst switching between plugins using the F7 key to show the difference between the two graphically, I encountered this bug.

Here's the screenshot I took with the F8 key using the OpenGL2 plugin.

And here's the screenshot I took, again with the F8 key, using P.E.Op.S. Soft.

So what's the dealio? Is this purely a plugin issue?
Thanks for reading.

Sony Vaio Tap 20:
The device can only be described with one single word "Awesome". However not perfect as you will realize during this small post.

Display:
The 20" IPS Display put my old LCD Monitor to shame. The Display is very crisp and text is very readable. The Colors are great as well as the Image Quality provided by it. Even being only 20" it feels better than that and far better than my 24" Monitor. In fact it feels just perfect in my opinion.

Connectivity:
The Vaio Tap 20 have 2x USB 3.0 ports, Headphone jack, line-in, 1x Card slot and 1x Ethernet. The biggest dissapointment is that it doesn't have any Display connectivity and the lack of HDMI really hurts.

Sound:
The Sound is surpricingly nice and when Dolby Digital is activated it just get better. However proper Speakers are the way to go if your Sound Needs require better ones like in my case.

Design:
I personally love the design even if reminds me a bit the iPad. Sadly the back is made of plastic but it gives a solid Feeling. There is a small part that you can remove to Access the battery, RAM and HDD. The stand is the best one i've ever seen on such devices... it allows you to positionate the device in almost every angle and it just stays there(props to Sony for that one).

Camera:
There is a front camera available but the Image Quality is as good as useless so it's clear that it was made for some Video Chat but not for taking everyday Pictures.

Bundle:
When you open the box you get the device itself and a Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse. That is actually everything you get in the box as no Software or Driver is bundled. There is a recovery Partition containing Windows and the Drivers to recover anytime but apart from that is all you get. The Keyboard and mouse works surprisingly well and i'm using it right now to write this post.

Touch Screen:
The Screen is not just big but also works surprisingly well. Touch is very accurate and i tested up to 10 Points without issue.

Performance:
The Vaio Tap 20 is obviously not a powerhouse but it has enough power under the Hood to handle applications and some games. Emulators run just great except PCSX2 which have some slowdowns. Surprisingly enough Dolphin runs incredibly well and i get full Speed while playing Zelda Twilight princess. Two PC games tested so far works great too such as the new DmC and Super Street fighter IV.

Desktop Performance is great too but interestingly enough i found some Performance issues on my app(@ruanTuber) that render it almost useless on it due to design flaws i made while designing it. After optimizing my code i got it to work smooth tho. here is a Video of the comparison before and after the optimization:

        You Tube

Normal applications run fine but applications that use rich UI require some work by the coders in order to improve the experience which is actually nothing bad. In fact properly designed Desktop applications can run great if coded properly as shown here in the early optimized Version of @ruanTuberHD which use richer and bigger Icons but provide 60% Rendering Performance increasement while having lower CPU usage:

Apps and Compatibility:
Compatibility is obviously perfect and since you have the full Windows experience there is no Need of any silly and restricted app store that try to suck your Money pocked as much as it can so that is definitely a plus.

Battery life:
Battery life is nice but obviously far from the likes of a tablet. With optimal Settings and lower brightness i managed to get 3 hours and when i use the optimal Settings for my Needs i get about 1 and half. For my Needs that is more than enough tho.

Weight:
Since i use this device as my main System i'm really glad to be able to carry it around here without any issues and since i have tons of energy plugs around i always have the possibility to plug it in if the battery is low. However i didn't bought this device to carry it on the streets so that is what the ASUS VivoTab Smart is here for ;)

While the device may look heavy in reality it isn't that heavy. In fact my old Flat LCD Monitor is far heavier and to complete the Combo my daughter carry the device around like nothing here so that you get an idea. The device is incredibly confortable even on the lap thanks to the dynamic stand included and the experience is very enjoyable.

Contras:
The device is awesome but not perfect. The lack of HDMI really hurts and it would be nice having one but there is a secret.... the device have Intel's WiDi!!!! however as awesome as that may Sound there is something you should know. People like me that own a TV WiDi capable are still unable to use it as a alternative to the lack of HDMI which will be awesome and here is simply the reason:

The System includes WiDi but for some silly reasons Intel doesn't have working Drivers for Windows 8 lol!!!! a big facepalm for that one.

Conclusion:
If you aren't one of those who Need to Play the latest games or Need a new GPU every month but want a light-weight and silent replacement for your power hungry Monster sitting somewhere in your house then the Vaio Tab 20 is for you. The device is powerful enough to replace your main Computer any time but if you are a hardcore PC gamer then you better skip it.

The Sony Vaio Tap 20 is by far the best purchase i've ever made and totally recommend it to all those that want a Computer for daily Tasks and some casual game but that don't Need super loud and powerful energy hungry Monsters.
First of all I am using a MacBook Pro late 2012 15inch. I know next to nothing about computers. So http://support.apple.com/kb/SP649 is a link to any information that may be pertinent.

My first question for anyone is: No matter what I do, I can't get Final Fantasy 8 to load or save. It just always reads as no memory card is in the slot. Any other game I have tried I have zero issue with. I'm fairly certain it is a FF8 specific issue. I have tried it using the discs I have, turned those into an iso and still the same thing. I even tried some .bin files I found online. Still no dice. I've created new memory cards, and tried loading from a saved file from gamefaqs; I can load right from a .gme file with any other games. Any tips on how to get FF8 to work would be splendid.

Secondly,
Is there any known way to enhance the graphics while playing via an emulator on my laptop? I could have sworn I saw something about it a while back. But I have yet to find anything regarding it as of late.

Thank you to anyone who is able to help me out here.

Cheers!

ASUS VivoTab Smart:
The VivoTab at 399€ was a relatively cheap purchase. One may compare the Price with similar Android ones but there is something to take in Count and that is the fact that you're getting a System with a full Version of Windows and you are not restricted like you are on Android, iOS or Windows RT. People may believe that those bring an Advantage over the real Thing but from a coding view they are relatively restricted and just usable to cash in by creating crappy apps or games.

At first i was afraid about Performance and apps since devices powered with Android and iOS offer far more apps than Windows 8 and that is a fact. However when it Comes to Quality apps the real Windows experience is billions of times better and that is a undeniable fact. After using the device for a week now we were able to install every single application and all of them run surprisingly well. The Performance of the device is really impressive as well as battery life. We managed to get 8 and half hours of battery life while Surfing the web, playing Music, viewing YouTube Content or Streaming Video but to be honest that was more of a hardcore senseless test since None of us actually use our devices that Long except for our main device. After that we did a real test by using the device the way we Need it and my wife managed today 3 days without the Need to recharge the VivoTab.

Network, games, Emulators and a hell bunch of things works great but obviously Emulators the like of Dolphin or PCSX2 won't run at fullspeed(interestingly enough Dolphin run at full Speed on my Vaio Tap 20 but that is for the next post). The whole experience is really smooth and even after running several 1080p Videos the device stays up like a champ so far we've had 0 complain about the Performance.

Connectivity:
The VivoTab smart doesn't have many but you have the headphone jack, micro HDMI and the mini USB port that work as OTG as far as i know which is great.

Compatibility:
Since you have the full Windows experience compatibility is nothing but awesome obviously and it runs anything you throw at it app-wise. The lack of apps in the Windows store is almost irrelevant when you take in Count the countless apps you have available for it. My wife wanted several apps she like and asked if is possible to install and run them as she wasn't sure at first. Obviously that wasn't a Problem and there was 0 Need of a app store as we have the biggest store on the planet..... www.google.com that is :thumb:

The VivoTab feels great in the Hand and the build Quality is obviously awesome. The most amazing Thing is how light(at 580g) it is and with 9,7mm thickness it just Looks terribly sexy. To test the compatibility a bit more we used a Special site(can't provide links here for obvious reasons) to stream Video Content.... the reason why that site is so Special is because it has tons of popups and other stuff that are required to reach the final link where the Video Content is. iOS obviously fail in all the Areas let alone being able to Play the Video. Android in the other Hand is capable to Play the Video but is unable to reach the final link no matter what browser you use. The ASUS VivoTab with the full Windows experience obviously overcome those like a champ and if one use a proper popup blocker it Display the final link instantly.

Desktop Experience:
The Desktop experience is great but obviously not that touch friendly. However if you increase the DPI as well as Icon size the experience is great unless some apps use super small Icons.

Heat:
Personally can't really say the device ever got warm and in fact not even slightly so there is absolutely nothing to say about it and since there are no vents is obviously silent.

Contras:
Honestly, there is nothing much to say here except for 1 Thing..... the Speakers. Sadly enough there is no Stereo Speakers available except for a Speaker on the left which in my opinion is very bad specially if you hold it with both Hands as you can easly block the Sound any time. Apart from that i haven't found a single Thing to list here.

Camera:
The camera is relatively good for a tablet and i personally can't complain with the Quality of it so far.

Conclusion:
I personally recommend the ASUS VivoTab Smart to everyone that want to do some daily Tasks without compatibility or availability limits but that doesn't Need a super high-end PC in there Hands. Obviously the ASUS VivoTab smart isn't a replacement for a Desktop Setup but is definitely powerful enough to handle most of our daily Task without effort. Obviously if you're looking for more power and probably something better then i recommend to wait a bit more until the next Generation of tablets hit the market. The tablet is very Handy and also easy to type because the touch experience is really awesome. Here is a pic of my wife's favorite way to hold the tablet and she's really fast at typing:
